My 79 Coupe project

Bought this coupe for $400, it is an original 302/automatic car. Looks like it was originally grey with blue int (yuck).

As it sits, it hasnt run for 2 years, the previous owner said the H Balancer was bad, so I put the new FRPP 28 oz balancer on yesterday. He said thats all it needed to run. Right now it needs a battery, a short belt (the dude took off the smog pump), and some gas. I borrowed a batt from a friend, and the motor cranks over, but it didnt have a drop of gas in it, so it wouldnt stay running.

He also said the radiater has a crack in it, but I can get one for cheap.

Plans for it are mixed. I could go the cheap route and keep a 302 in it, but I'm deffinatly converting to a roller 5.0 if I do. EFI would be nice, that way I could get blown easier. I still dont know if I'm going to keep it an auto or convert to manual.

In a few weeks, after the car moves on it's own, me and a friend are going to paint it primer black, and I'll be looking for some wheels. Some 10 holes would work perfectly.

Heres the pics

Don't worry, the tapped pony is off of it.

yikes! looks like this little pony needs a lot of work.... btw, manual swaps are a PITA! but the hardest part is the mounting of the clutch pedal...

Got the coupe running today, well, sort of. She'll run, but won't stay running unless I have the throttle open. I know it could be several things, but I'm thinking maybe carb needs to be adjusted? Also, blue smoke = oil burning right?

Yes I know, the int needs a lot of work.
