Sure did. I haven't had time to look over them yet though. I did however get a battery relocation kit! It's going to help a lot as all the wires that I'm trying to clean up are run right under where the battery sits!

Here's a pic of what I've been working on cleaning up lately.

I was trying to find a spot to put it behind the rear passenger tire... It's damn hard to find a place that will allow room to run the J bolts through the floor for the box... I may have to go in front of the axle or more "on top" of it.

Are you keeping the rear seat?
There is really no spot that will work well in the cargo area. It worked out well deleteing the rear seat gave it a great easy access spot for it to live in

I'm still not sure about the rear seats. I have them in good shape but I don't really have a need for back seats. I may look for a rear seat delete and some black carpet, but all that depends on wether or not this car ends up as a "rat rod" style rebuild or if I want to have a nice interior... I'm still debating wether or not I'll remove the a/c system to save weight!

I have decided to take out the a/c. Problem is, how do I dissconnect the lines from each other without destroying them so I cam put it up for sale if someone wants it?

and another thing, how come I only get things in my eye when my hands are covered in grease and engine grime and I can't wipe whatever it is out without smearing grease and engine grime all in my eye?!?!

BWAHAHA... I hear that about the eye thing.. i eventually just learned to use safety glasses with stuff. iv been in the kitchen sink to many times rinsing my eyes..

I got a pipe wrench and disconnected everything from mine. If I recall there was 1 line I just had to get a grinder/cut off wheel and get after it.

IDK what your bracket looks like for your a/c and power steering pump look like but I took a grinder and made a custom bracket for my hatch. I cut the stock bracket down so you couldnt tell there was ever an a/c compressor there, also I added a slot so I could put the coil in a better place. came out lookin bad ass.

The bracket for the compressor for a 2.3 comes completely off and out. Problem I have is getting the lines out of each other. They are snap rings I think, like fuel lines but huge! There are no threads or bolts or nuts to turn other than the one's holding the compressor bracket on the engine block.

edit: that's exactly what the connectors are... snap rings... I'll have to wait for the tool store to open tomorrow as I've lost a set of snap rings I had a long time ago...

That's where I'm headed now! But how did you leave everything else connected? All of the connections on my car are the fuel line style... I don't see how just unbolting it at the firewall will let me pull the whole thing out of the car.

My lines were thread connections at the firewall so I undid them and left them on the compressor and just pulled it as a unit. However mine were also threaded on the compressor seems FOMOCO changed it up on the SVO

I got it out! The fire wall nuts would not budge so I cut the pipes behind that and took the hoses out at the compressor and everything lifted right out after that! Looks 100% better in there now.

If anyone is interestd in the a/c system let me know. I'll probably put it up for sale on a local board. The only part of it I did not take out was the (I think) evaporator that's under/behind the dash. It probably won't be too hard if someone wants that part of it too. Lemme know!

In this pic on the intake, those 2 lines coming out, what do they do? I unhooked them and plugged the holes and I know the car will at least idle without them, but what do they do so I know if I can completely remove them or not. The EGR is already blocked off if they are related to that.

Also, there is a hard plastic line running from the top of the gas tank to the engine bay right under the VAM that doesn't hook to anything I can find, but it smells of gasoline fumes and I feel it should go to something... If not can I cut it off and plug it or stuff it into a corner or what?

If you are talking about the 2 lines above the throttle
linkage the small one is very important, dont run the car
    without it.

Follow the big one to the other end and tell me
    where it ends up at.

If you are talking about the 2 at the turbo inlet
thats a different story. It been awhile since I
have messed with a stock 2.3T but I want to say
the solenoid the vacuum line goes to limits boost
to 15-18 lbs in first gear. We have never used one on
a 2.3T car and its one of the first things to go.

The hard plastic line runs up the frame rail
and is about 5/16 id?It went to the vapor cannister
    at one time.

The larger one off the intake runs to a vacuum block on the firewall.... I unplugged it the other day and blocked off the holes on each end and the car idle'd fine then plugged it back in. I just found out about the gas tank vent hose. I'll go dig around and get it plugged back into the vac canister.

Curious, what does the small one do? It's ran into a small thingy that looks like an AFPR and sits on the end of the fuel rail.

Why dont you make sure the big one that goes to the
vacuum block also doesnt feed the brake booster?

'cause I didn't want to drive it anywhere unplugged before I knew what it did! There is a second hose on that vacuum block that runs to the brake booster that I assumed it could still supply with the other one blocked off....

I checked out the line from the gas tank but there wasn't any place to plug the line into the vacuum canister... I'm still lost with this one. I don't remember ever unplugging that from anything!

The second one is most likely the one you are unplugging from the intake one end goes to the booster the other to the intake.

Only if you want power brakes you can delete it but you would need to swap M/Cs and go with a manual set up which is a PIA on a street driven car due to pedal effort increases

Are you selling the AC panel on the dash? I need that and the cable.

No I wasn't planning on selling it. I still need it there to fill the gap in the dash if it's gone.

I have some ABS plastic to put in the void. You could mount a GPS unit on it.

What about heater/defrost controls? Still have a place on the plastic insert for those to remain functional?

I haven't really made any progress other than some rattle can on the exterior just to see how it sprays. I know this is no where near finished for primers because I still need to do door jams and put fenders back on, but it's kinda what the car may look like when it's all said and done, just better...!

and I finally ordered the FMIC, tubular header, 3" exhaust, 155lph walbro pump and a Kirban AFPR. There is a good deal on stinger right now for an la3 comp with the larger VAM and some 36lb/hour injectors that were tuned with each other in someone's failed project car. The ecu has already been opened up for a chip so that's a plus. Only issue is the VAM has been worked to function with a blow throug set up. It can be put back to stock but I don't know if I want to try that or not yet.

As soon as the new parts come in I'll take pics while they are new and shiny and start reassembling everyting so I can primer the whole car and continue to procrastinate about painting in my garage!

Oh, and this is the truck I bought with some of the money from selling my Mach.

I'm very happy with it so far. It's not for everyone, but it's an exteremely capable off road truck with some decent tires under it. I plan to do a lot with this soon as the wife gets off the "you spend all our money on cars and toys" rant...

Yeah factory Recaro seats are a nice touch! Problem is the guy I bought mine from must have been right side heavy because the cushion on the right side of the drivers seat is all but gone and the frame of the seat pushes into my thigh something fierce. Maybe time to reupholster and stuff in some new foam.

Well hell that kind of pisses me off to be honest! I was hoping to be the first SVO painted like that!

But you have/had a great looking car there! Gives me inspiration for what mine will look like someday.

Fathom the odd hypocrisy that Obama wants every citizen to prove they are insured, but people don't have to prove they are citizens.

If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you weren’t a racist, you’d better vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you’re not an idiot.

The Navy SEALS removed one Muslim threat to America ...
It's up to the voters to remove the other!

I know man. I've had some shifts in priorities, but this car is still something I'm passionate about. I think I'm going to go ahead now and put new carpet and get some new door panels made, and find someone to restore the seats in it and have a nice clean little cruiser car. Nothing too fancy but something that's easily driven daily if I choose to.

Anyhow, parts are almost here (should arrive tomorrow) and I'll start reassembly this weekend. Other good news, I got moved to a first shift position at work, so that's a positive!
