My block is done......... finally
I just got word that my block has finally been completed today. Now I am officially broke... all the machine work and block prepping cost over 8 bills. Had the block bored, decked, notched for the Cobra crank, new brass freeze plugs, painted, the pistons, rods and crank balanced, rings file fitted, new bearings, crank polished and radiused. Now that that project is done, I will build it and save up more cash for my head work and getting the cams degreed so I can finally get this thing in.

Kotzur did the machine work, I will build it myself. I never really planned for any power adders aside from nitrous. But its all forged internals, Cobra crank, h-beam rods, forged pistons.... lots of $$$, I am so broke already. Then wne that is built, I will P&P the heads stage 2 and degree the cams for maximum benefit and power. ARP hardware and looking at a windage tray to to help it on the bottom.

Sweet project.
My '98GT has ~125K mi on it now... Id be suprised if its making much more HP than yours. Wifey-poo just got a new job (& a hefty pay increase), so I may be looking for a good Explorer block to rebuild this summer. or maybe a good 4v to swap. heh. |

For all you NON believers.....
here is the block, too heavy to pull out for good pix ![]() here is the Cobra crank... ![]() H-beams and bearings... ![]() pistons... ![]() Cobra oil pump... ![]() another view of the block... ![]() the fresh bore and hone.... ![]() ARP main studs and rings... ![]() the comp cams 270's ![]() I have plenty more........ of all the extra stuff I have laid in the garage.. JLT CAI kit, injectors, billet flywheel, headers, all the gaskets, all I lack in parts are the intake, throttle body, upper plenum, and I may get new headers..... Or you can just come to my house, bring beer though for the bet you are about to loose!!!! ![]()

Yeah, to bad Santa did not just magically put all this stuff under my tree....
I am building it right now in the shop. But I am looking for the torque specs for ARP hardware..... 2 bolt mains and head studs..

Well, I have the crank in, and one bank of pistons in, stupid box is missing one set of spiro locks, now I need to wait to get the other bank in. Oil clearances look good, now I just have to sit and wait a few days. Pix later tonight, crappy quality, done with my cell phone.
