my car is gone :( ..forawhile

First off, there was a tornado that touched down where I work (southwest) for about a minute that flew open a metal door, did some window damage to our store, car windows, signs, and as well as other shops. I lost the engine after getting stuck in high water, and it was only getting worst, so I had to drive through it, made it then pulled over to the side of the road on higher group. I called sprint roadside service, they completely shutdown all towing service throughout Houston so they told me they couldn't do anything, and this was right as my phone was about to die. The last thing he said was that they would reimburse the money for the tow truck for the first 3 miles as it states in the contract. So I'm screwed with the car dieing, smoking and with a dead cell phone. I called some people to see if they would try to help me. One of them said "man, I don't want to go out there, I'm tired" Well...you really know your true friends when your in need of an emergency. Anyways, I just decided to call Mac Haik Ford and have them tow the car the dealership and I got a ride from someone else. The car sounded awful, and it definitely had water at the bottom end of the engine. So I called the insurance company to make a claim, they claim since it was a catastrophe that it will not be as harmful of a claim, but it will take ATLEAST 2 days just to get this adjuster to call me and schedule a time to look at the car.

If they total it, can i have your rims

I'm just messin. The insurance since it was an "act of God" usually restores the car reguardless of the damage (as in if the damage is over the total cost of the car) they won't total it. If it was you hitting someone you'd be kissin the car g'bye if damage was that bad (ie. totaling the car) But hopefully you'll have it back in about 2 weeks maybe a lil more.

But been there done that w\ my bug. Used to do derbys in my old 65 VW bug, high winds and a storm were brewin, so we just tried to finish. Well we all went inside and high winds kept up to the point it flung all sorts of crap at my car. Since my engine is exposed (baja bug style) then my engine was devastated. But insurance gave me the money instead of totaling it.

Doesn't sound like a fun day. At least you know now who is/aren't your real friends...

Let us know how it progresses man, try to upgrade whatever you can if you have to replace parts, ideally, get a 4v!
