My first 1/4 times...

Well it has been spoken about for awhile, I finally made it out to the track on Friday. A few of you were interested in my times, so I am posting it. It was a lot of fun, it was me, two slightly modded z28's, and a GTO. Enough about that, here is the info about my car and the times.

1999 Ford Mustang V6

Mods:
TMA Turbo kit
Upgraded fuel system
(everything else is bone stock)

My boost is set at 7.2psi, I don't have posi, my rear end sucks, I was spinning each time at the launch. I am dissapointed with the times, I should be doing much better. And the fact that it was my frist time, I was nervous as hell, messed up a few times, crappy reaction time, crappy 60'. Anyway I beat the GTO when we raced. Here are the times, in order of my runs. I am looking forward to the next time I go out, I need to first figure out how to get the power to the ground so that I can get my high 12's that I want.

Nice times! I can see your 60' needs improvement. What are your ideas for improvment?

a new rear-end is what i need. even a stock gt rear end would fix my traction problem.

Get the 60s down to 1.90s-2.0s should get you in the 12s.
Go to TurboMustangs.com for some V6 turbo info.Couple of
guys in the 10s with street driven V6s.

Right.. an 8.8 and some sticky tires should get you into the 12's easily.. Nice trap speed.

You can get a GT rear out of a junkyard for a reasonable price. I think you should look into upgrading the brakes too, at least to a GT setup...that trap mph + V6 brakes could spell trouble, esp on the street. I'm upgrading mine, and I only trapped 100. Not for drag use, but that's another story...

i'm the same way. intimidation makes me nervous and nervous makes me fuck up. i also feel safer racing alone that way i dont have to worry about the car next to me wrecking into my ass.

It's strange but I score my best times when racing someone just slightly faster.. If I know the guy next to me can run 2 tenths faster I am usually on my game.

Now, if they're way faster, or 2 tenths slower, I don't do as well.

CRAP! Those are AWSOME traps! Does it still have single exhaust? But man thats FAST. Good job, and BTW a stock GT rear probably wont hold up to high RPM launches, needs to be built if you plan on running slicks...it can go on any launch.
Thats crazy... im also hoping for high 12s, but @ about 108, my next time out. So good luck man.

A 8.8 with some 31 splines and you'll be good to go.

I'm 95.82 % sure that the V6 brakes are the same as the GT brakes on 99-04 stangs
