Yeah I'm thinking i need a driver mod more than anything! It's been a while since I've ran at a track and it showed in my times. I'll get the hang of it and get my 60' down and I think I should be ok. It pulls like a Mad Man in third and just as hard in fourth.
The brand slips my mind but they don't have urethane rubbers on them them so they are a little noisy but should get the job done.

So I was driving to Biff's and my car started acting a bit funny. I would accelerate and it would fall on it's face. I could roll on the throttle and it would do a little better. If I just hit it WOT it would instantly cut out. I didn't really have time to mess with it yet, but I did pull out the computer and it was hotter than I would have expected it to be. I also killed the car by moving the harness, so I'm thinking maybe that has something to do with it. I noticed there were two wires spliced into the harness, I have no Idea where they go yet, but the car is an 87 that has been converted to ma, so maybe that has something to do with it..... UGH!

Those 2 wires more then likely were the pigtails for the MAF plug if they did not replace the complete harness with a MAF. We just did a real MAF harness in a 87 coupe due to the fact that pigtail kept giving problems/signal.
His problem was the old balancer had spun on the ruber so we couldnt set base timeing to tune it.
As for your problem now
Odds are you got a lose conection there in that mass air conversion bro that would easily cause a issue.. could be a number of things

if it was running right then started runing bad its not tune its something has changed or gone away such as a fuel pump distirbutor etc etc.
I personaly think you were maxing your mass air but its close with 42 pounders 500 rwhp should be doable all else considered IF you have a decent fuel pump and clean filter.
if your 100 percent sure you have a healthy 255 and a clean filter its most likely the mass air is pegging.
I have a new break out box so i can tell now if the mass air is pegging on the fox body 100 percent for sure.

Thanks Dean. I was in no way putting any blame on you or the tune. I'm pretty sure it is something like an electrical connection somewhere. I know shit happens with these cars.... that's why I have 2.... Anyhow I just wish i had a schematic or something to follow to be sure I'm getting the right signals in the right places. Being as how this is a SD car converted to MA then having the mass air meter relocated for the blower I'm sure there is something somewhere I can do to remedy this situation until I decide which way I want to go with this car.

Yeah well we'll see if it even starts when I'm done... hehe. The intake is a Saleen/ Vortech. I wanted to swap it out for a Trick Flow R, but I hear they flow about the same. It's a pretty rare/ old school intake. It's got a spot designated to be drilled for extra injectors on the plenum, before the abundance of 97888758# injectors and fancy fuel systems![]()

h&r ss springs, kyb shocks&struts, 17x9 and 17x10.5 03 cobras, bbk catted x with borla stingers, sct tune and 3.73's.
So I worked on the car a little bit...
I started organizing every wire that goes into my computer, trying to get that ready to be re-harnessed
I've covered every hole in my firewall left by the HVAC system removal
I have the Engine harness, as well as 99% of all of the wiring from the firewall forward in position and loomed.
I have the everything mounted under the fenders and all of my wiring is also tucked away back there, no more clutter under the hood!
I have my new electric fan set up mounted and wired.
I have the e-fan controller mounted on a removable plate where the air silencer went once upon a time.
My AFM power pipe is now installed. It was kinda tricky due to the fact that my MAF is relocated to the draw through set-up as opposed to the blow through that ProCharger had intended. For that matter the Poewer Pipe was also not intended to have extra hardware on the end of it. I'm not saying that it's pretty, but it was definitely a challenge without resorting to chopping up the new pipe.
The hardest part of this project is deciding where everything should go. I've probably configured everything more than 3 times. I still have lots of work to do, but I think the hard part is over with..... anyways photos aren't uploading I'll try again tomorrow. I'm too hungry to wait right now
