Edinburg International Racetrack, One on one, you and me, for a Taco Loco. Even if I lose, ill still gonna buy one for me to eat anyway.

Nah, kiddin, street racin isnt my style. I know ALOT of places, especially here in the Weslaco/Mercedes/LaFeria area, but nah, cant give them away, I dont want these places to be used for the wrong things.

John ya'll ever have any big races down there? Or where you can run like a true street event? I have not run in south texas and would not mind tripping down there to run?

Yea, every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thursday is nothing but Street, I believe, and Friday and Saturday you race whatever you bring. This past weekend was the "Blower vs. Nitrous" night. Really neat stuff.

Check it out...

The next link shows the "King Of The Streets", the true top street class racers...

Streets races here in the valley are nothing like how they used to be 4-5 years ago. Some friends and I used to go street racing just about everywhere in the valley. From La Joya to Brownsville (note: all the cities between these areas.), even in Elsa.

Things changed and we grew up, now we only go to the track. (not too often though.) If you want something like street racing go to the Edinburg track. Just you another car and the lights. No times or trap speed come out, just whoever finishes first w/out red lighting.

werd!

Too many fools down here don't know how to drive and get people killed.
Stupid chit.

Heck in Harlingen about 4 years ago. It was so bad that people would race from stop light to stop light on a 1 mile long stretch. no cops would even come near that area while patroling. Finally someone punks killed a family on there way to eat, I believe.

Now thankfully there are plenty of police out there to keep the pendejos straight. Of course there is always some freakin person that screws up. Well in one Saturday night there are atleast 5 arrest made for street racing or the dreaded Exhibtion of Acceleration

Someone needs to get on the ball and build a freaking track over there (Harlingen area). I have some friends that have to drive all the way to north edinburg just to run, but they take a different route to the track.

and yes there are very very stoopid people driving these days.

Absolutely! Unfortuantely, due to the death of that teenager two weeks ago.
It still seems that many people continue thinkin that will never happen to them. It's like riding a motorcycle, it's not if you ever fall down IT'S when.

The mom of the kid is actually pushing for a dragstrip to be built.
I hope they do a multipurpose track for auto-X and 1/4 runs.

You can run Auto-X with the Porsche Club of America at the Port Isabel Airport. I don't know when they run.. but I ran with them in 2001 and about year later. It was way more fun than dragracing. On a track with other 10 cars full throttle and corner carving.

Yeah I wanted to go out there the 25th and 26th of this month.
But it's a $125 for both days, not bad in my opinion.
Unfortunately I am little short on cash. New Koni Red Shocks, Eibach Sportlines, rear upper and lower control arms with Polyurethane bushings and hardware. All in one month have tapped me out. Also need to get the brake rotors turned and get some Hawk brake pads.

Yea get the brakes for sure if you want to run Auto X. my mustang was automatic so I couldn't really downshift to slow down on the curves (pure brakes and occasional downshifting.) I messed up my brakes and went home metal on metal by the end of the day. It was worth it though .

I still got the beat the crap out of some TransAm's.
