Need '94 GT Keyless Entry Programing Instructions
I lost my only keyless entry remote and key for my '94 Stang and I need to know how to reprogram a new keyless entry remote.
![]() I was told that configuring a new remote to my car would reprogram the keyless module in the car rendering the old keyless remote useless. Is this accurate? I also had a new key created but I fear that someone may now have access to my vehicle, so I am thinking of getting the entire car new locks and key cylinders. I wonder if insurance would cover this? Any help would be great... Thanks!!!

Found these instructions on another site......Don't have a clue if they are correct or not......
You need the keyless remote for that year (I think 94-98 are all the same) If you look on e-bay you can find them new! You can program up to 4 keyless remotes at one time. If you search e-bay most of the units say what cars they will work on and they should come with programming instructions. I have a 95 and I bought 2 remots off e-bay as the previous owner lost mine. The keyless entry unit is in the trunk area on the drivers side. Remove the carpet material and there is a mounting bracket that holds the keyless entry unit (mounted on back) and the anti-theft unit (mounted on front. To program the keyless entry you have to put the key in the ignition and turn it on, but don't start car. In the trunk by the unit you will find a harness that has 2 pins, short those together and the doors will lock then unlock, that tells you that it is in program mode, then you push any button on the remote and the doors will lock and unlock again to let you know the remote was programmed, then you hit a button on any other remotes you are programming and the doors will lock and unlock again. Turn the key off and you are done! It takes only a couple minutes and this will delete any previous remotes and program the new ones. Hope this helps!! |

I am not sure if it works with 94-95 but I'm posting it anyway - worked on my 99
sit in vehicle with doors closed press unlock key on driver door insert key and twist ignition on (clockwise) and off (counter clockwise) 8 times within 10 seconds ending with key in "on" position. wait - door will automatically lock then unlock program transmitter by pushing any button on transmitter within 20 seconds up to 4 transmitters can be programmed at once locks will then automatically cycle to confirm end of programming for those of you with the stock alarms..... It's also a good idea to reprogram the transmitter (at least once a month) if you're one of those people who leave your stang in the hands of service shops, detailing shop, VIP parking, etc. Someone could gain access to your ride by reprograming your transmitter to their spare. A good reason why to have at least two programmed transmitters. The one you keep at your home will verify if any unwanted regramming has occurred - if your spare transmitter no longer works - someone may have reprogrammed your setup.

The method that seco listed is the one we used in the dealerships, but I don't think it is required to hit the unlock button first. I think the other method of shorting the two wires also works, but is slower. We used the wire shorting method first then later used the cyling the ignition switch method. The wire shorting method may be for the older cars, I don't remember.
