Need a person who is off on Monday ....

My son moved home the other day, and we were trying to get him his driver's license since he's already 18!

We went to the DMV today, and he passed the written and everything else; but when it came time for him to take the driving part of the exam -- the Miata has a dead registration sticker (which I was unaware of) and the examiner refused to let us do it.

Who is off on Monday?

I can run by the Tax Office to get the sticker over my lunch on Monday, and then if someone else can take him to the DMV so he can take the test ... OR if anyone has a little car that he can use, and they take him over there ... either one. I would do it myself, but I am working 10-hour days!

It wouldn't be a RUSH except he leaves on Wednesday to go back to Virginia to pack up his stuff and won't be back for another couple weeks .... :-(

[But the nice thing IS that he took his placement test for SAC today and did incredibly well, so he'll be starting SAC soon!]

Anyone? Please.

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

I may be able to if you can't find anybody by then. I'm currently unemployed so I'm on a temporary vacation! I guess you can send a PM sunday if you don't find anyone for sure.

So you are staying in Texas right? Cuz it would be pointless to get it and then move back because it's no good there.

HAHA... no, I don't expect him to let anyone take the mach but him. If it's the miata, then that's fine... never driven one of those. But yeah, just keep my posted if you don't find anyone because chances are, I'll be free.

Brian, the one that had the Moving/Pizza party a couple weeks ago, said he'd be able to take him over, and he lives very close by ....

I got the sticker this morning, went to San Antonio Auto Title (open on Saturday at the Callaghan office), so the little car is good to go!!

Thanks so much BigDrumma for the offer! You can come take the Miata for a turn whenever you want... All 94 throbbing horsepower is quite fun when you are driving in essentially a go-cart!

Many thanks to Brian for offering to take Wes over ... I am much relieved!

It's times like this when I really appreciate my LSS Family!!

Not a problem at all! LSS peeps were there when I needed them and hardly even knew anyone... Its my turn to return a favor of a few that I owe.. Got your PM Tracy. Thanks for the directions. See you on Monday Wes, I'd say around 1pm sometime. I'll call you and get you a better time when I get off from work in the morning.

Wes got his license on Monday & drove me over to my house last night to tinker on the pool ...
Naw, just kidding!
He drove very well for a FIRST TIME! He had piddled around and driven quite a bit off/on since he was about 9 or so, but never full-speed and dodging other people ...

Many thanks to Brian for helping make it happen!

Now ... everybody, watch out for Big Red on the streets!
