Warranty does not cover maintenance anyway, brakes are hella expensive to do not to mention the friggen 8 quart oil changes that require full synthetic and a cartridge oil filter that can filter a semi truck. $100 oil changes, $500 brake jobs (one axle)............... run away!!!

Besides, owing a BMW is a social status thing............. for the homo's who could not afford a Bentley.

i was seriously looking into a beemer myself before i bought the truck. i found a few good deals, but walked away. i couldnt justify $100 oil changes, $400 brake jobs, and if anything goes wrong motor wise, its cheaper just to buy another beemer. also, with all the bells and whistles it has - thats just more expensive shit to potentially fuck up. using that versus $20 oil changes and $70 brake jobs on fords, i decieded to do the smarter choice. bmw makes great cars that will run forever if taken care of, but that damn maintenance will kill ya. good luck on your decision.

i agree.... all the bmw's my family has owned, i've never heard of anyone having serious problems with anything, they are very well designed cars, but damn that maintainence just like everyone said.... i remember this guy got mad at me one time when i said i'd hook him up w/ a brake job on his 325 for a good price... i can't remember how much it was, but it was way more than the normal $120ish brake jobs i normally do.
