has the a/c been converted to r134a? i can check out the car, but it the a/c is not converted, good luck finding someone to put r12 in it around here... i had a case but used it all... i posted in your other thread that i'm in denton and i can work on these cars... even after you pay me gas to drive out there, it's still cheaper than finding a shop to work on them.

BUT, here's what I suggest, if its the original system, convert it, the kits only cost about $450-500 and you can use the same inside unit. |

My understanding is that there is an a/c leak because the previous owner did put freon in it and it didnt last a day....so that is why he is assuming there is a leak somewhere......I'm here to find out where there are some honest garages to go to near to check everything out for me from the brakes to the steering to the a/c so i get whats important out of the way first before I start the long journey of restoring it........

Here come the questions, but you all gotta remember this is new to me....where can I go to get a manual of somesort detailing my engine and the parts of the car...I have seadoos and you cn go online and get detailed down to the bolt size detail, pages of every part of the ski...bascially so you can tear it apart and put it back together again.....that kinda manual.......I wanna be "informed"....

If you upload some pics of the engine bay, interior, body, undercarriage, I can give you some pointers. The major problems in these old cars is the wiring, and switches, you will find bad switchs and shorts. So if you have the money, I would buy a painless wiring harness for it, they cost about $450 but its well worth it and makes your car more safe. Quote:
You can find a manual there. I would also get your parts from them, I can order on a monday and have my parts by thursday the latest. And they have very good customer service, I highly recommend them.

Oh, and as for the engine manual. Go pick up a couple of SBF rebuild manuals at auto zone or somewhere like that. They also have high-performence engine building manuals.

Sounds like you definately have a leak. Most of the time you can look at the a/c system and see where the leak is by visual inspection. (Oily residue) |

I really appreciate everyone's input here....I will take some pics and post soon...As simple as the engines were back then its alot easier for me to get around . So when I upload pics I could learn "online" how to "tinker"....
