wheel speed sensors.. abs will be inoperative too if i'm not mistaken... or pull the dash out and unplug the spedometer... but on a sport trac, it's all electric..

It is a simple plug on elec connection on the tranny. However you will trigger a CEL and may have shifting problems as the computer will be looking for hte info from the trans. Also the ABS will be inop as mentioned.

It aint like the old days

And even if you unplug it in the dash it believe it will be the new miles as soon as you plug it back in as the computer stores the mileage.

Why not just tell the folks she is going and avoid all the problems?

i still say unplug the guage cluster... the cluster stores the mileage... if it's unplugged, it wont register themiles...
