Need some tech advise for a 00 4.6 32v

I'm getting an awesome deal for a wrecked cobra that I plan on picking up sometime in the next few months. The motor is completely untouched and will still turn on. I want to have some 500-600 hp but still have it streetable. i plan on rebuilding it and twin turbo's. So heres my questions.

will the block handle that? what kinda compression am i looking for w twin turbo? is twin turbo a good idea? any other advise you could give would be great. Mind you idk much about mod motors so any help is great..

thanks

Motor can't handle that. Most you should go is with 8 lb's of boost @ less than 500 hp. 500 hp is pushing that as well. To be really safe and have a window less block I would keep it @ about 450-470 hp w/ a very, very conservative tune.

There were no 2000 Cobras (except in Australia. also, the Cobra "R"). Could it be a '99 or '01?

I figured it was the 99-01 Cobra motor.

the guy who i am gettin the eaton from is pushing 16 pounds and its pushing 540rwhp on a stock bottom end and hes been driving it like that for the last year and half, not to mention he also has 100wet shot on it....i didn't belived him until i saw it.....the cobra 99-01 motor are sweet n fun but no enough to play with LS1's build the shortblock throw a procharger and be done with it...my 02.cents

THat would be all fine and dandy on the 03 bottom end, but on the 99-01 cobra and 03/04 mach bottom end he would be having a nice little window mod in the block.

with turbos 500 rwhp will be ok if your conservative on the tune and don't beat on it alot but as said the rods and pistons are the week spot in that particular motor.

2001 cobra motor** i plan on rebuilding it w/ new forged rods & pistons and possibly a larger crank... what would be a good block to go with for 500+ hp numbers..?

actually ford did make cobra motors in 2000 but only as replacements, and the ONLY 00 cobras were the R's, it was 02 that they were all shipped to Australia

and yes that will be good enough for reliable 500 hp, but as far as the block/crank your better off with a 96-98 teskid block
