New Convertible Top

The top on my 05 is seperating around the rear window, its coming unglued.
Also where the glass ends behind the fabric, it is starting to tear.

Took it to Jordan Ford, still under warranty, they said they had never seen one do that before. It is covered, parts ordered and it will be fixed on Monday.

Hope they do a good job!

Anyway, does anyone know how much of what gets replaced?
Will they let me keep all the old stuff? I'm guess the new top comes with the rear glass already glued in, so I should be able to get the old glass and put it away just in case.

Oh yeah, if they would let me, I would have done it.

Most likely the entire top will be changed out.
No they wont let you keep it most times it gets sent back to FORD for eval as to what caused it and if they need to look at redesign or whatever

Mine has done that in the past. I just had my top replaced and it seperated as well in the SAME PLACE. I was told it could have been due to the tint.

If you get it tinted...make sure they are very careful when cutting the tint on the inside as it will lead to eventual seperation like you have in the pic.

Other than that...the tops they put on these stangs SUCK but I have seen the cloth top option on the 08's and yes they look and seem much more relia ble.

When Ford replaces the top they will keep everything. The glass and the top itself is a single peice and they probably will not let you keep it.

Good luck! And nice choice of color!

good tip on the tint, don't have it though.

By 08 my warranty will be out, plus that probably wouldn't be an availble option to me anyway.

Ok, took it in Monday morning at 7 am
SUPPOSED to have it back Tuesday evening.
NO, how about Wednesday, by lunch.
Call at 5:00 pm, couple of more hours to go, should have it on Thursday.
Four days to put on a new top. Damn glad its under warranty and isn't costing me anything!! Except gas in my van and no fun without the stang

ok, got it back.
Looks ok, seems to fit a bit different, but it is all there.
They said it is an updated design.

A bit dissapointed in the condition of the car, I mean, it wasn't spotless when I took it in, but when I got it back it was just covered in oily finger and hand prints. As well as weatherstrip adhesive on the top and on the paint.
I didn't expect it to be washed, but at least clean up the mess. Especially after having it for 4 days.
Oh well, it is done

Who did the work?

Nevermind, I see in the first post that you went to Jordan, I never cared for their service dept.

Today I noticed a new dent on the passenger side under the quarter window, a nice smooth one apparently cause by someone leaning too hard on the side while struggling with the top.
Damn, I hate having anyone do anything with my car.

I hate converts for this very reason . The tops just don't seem to last worth a crap and are expensive to repair .
