    New from FL

Hi my names Denise, right now I live in Miami, FL but am wanting to make a move to TX. I was thinking the Houston area. However, I live in a state that does not require inspections or emissions so I'm a little concerned with how I would be able to get my cars street legal.

First car is an 04 cobra. First coupe I have ever owned, and I have to say I do miss the verts. She's fully built, Mesa balancing in FL built the block and HPP in Dallas has tuned the car and added a few little odds and ends too it last year. She's got a nice lil 3.4 whipple so she is far from stock. Also cat less so this is the car I am most concerned about being able to make street legal.

Second is an 02 lightning that just got finished being built after well...no ones really sure what blew it up. Non the less its just a lighting with bolt on's nothing too exciting.

I probably won't be moving until June, but any input on the job market in Houston, places to live (I would be renting initially but do need at least a two car garage), or emission/inspections would be great. Pro's and Con's of area? How are the law enforcement I have read TX is one of the worst states as far as getting pulled over, fines, ect

Also does the state require insurance for motorcycles? FL doesn't, but I have been ticketed out of state for no proof of insurance before.

Thanks, and looking forward to the move

    Exciting part.....Pictures

    At the dealer:

Fairly old pictures of the motor I am having the valve covers powder coated in white....

Welcome denise and as for me im a new member as well. Just purchased my 2nd coupe and hope to keep this one for many yrs.... You have very sweet rides man. A/w as for the houston pros and cons!

One of the worst things that houston has is traffic but you will get used to it very queit because it will never change. The only time their is traffic is just in the morning from 7-9 and around dinner time. After that it's sweet sailing. Houston has a very well known car seen and we usually hang out on thursday night and sunday night. We are always precautious and never invite the immature ppl. As for cops, I really dont think their that bad unless you get caught speeding or breaking the law ect ect... As for insurance on your motorcycle that will be a yes.

Construction right now is pretty bad with them trying to finish up the beltway. If your worried about passing your emmission we all know ppl to get that covered!

IF you have anymore questions don't hesitat to ask?

We actually have 2 houston forums if that would help you anymore.

The bike is actually my boyfriends, I've only had the oppertunity to ride it myself when the rear wheel is on standsl while I'm learning the whole clutch system. Apparently I would kill myself 57 sprocket. I will def check out the other sites. I will probably be down there tues - thurs trying to find a pitbull friendly rental. I would love to take both of my dogs, but could leave one with my mom. If anyone can reccomend complexes to look at or cheap hotels to stay at let me know. I like to looks of cities east of huston just since its closer to the beach. Worst case scenario would be to continue registering the car in FL. Thanks again for the welcome
