New owner 05 GT

Hey guys this is my 8th mustang and I know the early models really well and the last on I had was a 99 . I have some mods which include steeda maf and cold air kit , Also tb spacer plate and mostly cosmetic stuff . Oh yeah off road h pipe and flow masters .
As for future mods I was thinking procharger or kenny bell . I think I get less Hp with kennbell but a lot more response and that would be ore fun on the street!
What would you guys do next as for mods that would help with the chargers?

Yeah I like long tubes but what would the diferance be in comparison to the shorties. I allready have the h pipe for the shorties of factory position manifold.

Shorties for a supercharger because the quicker you get the big mass of spent gases into a bigger pipe after the header makes easier breathing. Long tubes are better for N/A cars. I read it in either one of the Mustang magazines, of Hot Rod Magazine. It makes since to me.

On the contrary, I was told the total opposite Long tubes if your going supercharged and shorties if your not. But hey just look at the numbers mine put up with just long tubes and basically stock. Then again what do I know I have always known that long tubes were better for the Fox body mustangs which was all I ever dealt with for many years, but when I finally bought a new mustang 06 Roush I thought I'd better ask someone with experience with these who else better than Dean over at PSI he has run into the 9's with his and he told me you wont see the diff. with long tubes or shorties unless your running a supercharger or turbo. Thats when the long tube makes a diff. so who am I to argue with the guy. It worked for me. call him and he can better explain it to you. He knows the S197's. 210)655-6546
ask for Dean.

heres the simple truth on these cars.

shorties dont make enough of a difference to be worth the money.

reason ? the stock engine makes sub 350 horsepower and the stock manifold is a EXCELLENT design its very effecient and shorties only gain around 5-6 rwhp over the stock manifold on a bolt on car.

so is 5-6 rwhp worth the 600 bucks install and parts cost ? .. your call ..

long tubes however can be worth a honest 25 rwhp on these cars ..

the long tube headers work because they use the long tube to create a scavenging effect or a small vacume in the exhaust tube wich actualy helps pull even more exhaust out of the chamber..

imagine a tube trying to syphon gas. once you get the gas flowing through a long tube it will continue to flow all on its own due to its momentum and this same vacume/scavenging effect.

when you add any type of forced indution, nitrous or blower then even the shorties are worth significant power but the long tube will always come out ahead due to the scavenging effect of the longer tube.

if a shortie makes more power up top then a long tube.. it is because it was compared to a long tube that was to small a diameter for that application.

acutaly yes some do.

most use shorties some use cast iron manifolds and some evne use a long tube type header and mount the turbo a decent distance from the engine.

sans STS and of course you may use a modified shorty. anyone can make a turbo kit with some flipped shorties on a 5.0

but you dont just stick ab frp shorty header on a car with a pro turbo kit
