New regs for dancers...
Dancers in SA are now required to wear "name tags" while working.....the same law was enacted in Houston a few months ago, and of course this is being appealed to federal courts.
The girls can wear the name tags with their stage names, but background checks are required to obtain the id's. What do you do if you work at an all nude place??? I think this is an invasion of their privacy as there will now be public record of their occupation. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for this to be overturned!! |

the 3 foot rule hase been in affect for about 5 years in houston, the name tag thing they started about the same time. The dancers dont follow the 3 foot rule, I think all this i stupid! Whats next??? are they going to make them turn the music down and turn the lights on, that would make the girls realy ugly. Maybe they will only surve you two beers then you have to go, I guess i will just have to add the playboy channel to my cable. ![]()

this is just a simple case of those self righteous soccer moms having nothing better to do with their time besides throw a fit when people have a good time.
seriously, who does it hurt? i know there have been several attempts to ban strip clubs in san antonio, and it will be a sad day when it happens. they have discovered that it cannot be done all at once, so they will try and take small steps. name tags are the first part of their plan. give it 3 or 4 years and the clubs just might be gone. |

It isn't just men who like the clubs....I think they need to vote on this stuff before they let a councilman who is just trying to look good make a decision for us. I bet he is one of their top customers.
If they get rid of the clubs people are just going to drive to the nearest town to see some girls. Why don't they get rid of the big megaplex that is right off of the highway on 281 where Ninfa's used to be...that place is way flashier than some of the clubs. This just pisses me off....I mean those girls are just making a living like everyone else. If they are going to make it difficult, do the background check, and then issue them a license like a hair dresser that they have to display in the back at the station they use to get ready. |

The "background" check maybe at point of contension. What factor in their background would disqualify them from getting a license?? Basically it is just another means of raising revenue for the government (city, county, or state) that issues the license. |

People who work at HEB and such wear clothes.....how big of a turn off is it for a name tag to be dangling...that would be a big distraction to me.
I am ok with the background check.....hopefully that would keep trash out of the clubs, and a license to strip would be fine too...I understand the government needs money. You have to have a license to fish or hunt, so this is really no different. I just don't think that this is a place that the city wants to go. San Antonio is too big of a town to be pulling something like this. |

Cops aren't going to enoforce it until a judge rules on it anyway. The strip club's lawyer is fighting it and advising his "clients" to not go down and get the applications they need. Both the SAPD and the club's lawyer are waiting to see how the judge will rule.
