newbie

Hi guys new to this site.

I have a 66Gt that I bought about two years ago to restore. Currently it has a 68 302 with 70 351w heads 2v carb, original rebuilt 3spd c4 auto, factory style GT exhaust, black standard interior.

I've already striped the interior and repainted it, replaced the driver floor pan and passenger rear floor pan, new shoes spring and hardware kit all around, front wheel cylinders and brake lines are new, new master cylinder, still need new rear brake line from hardline to axle.

Any advice on suspension kit to get as well as exhaust setup greatly appreciated as I plan to have the car up-n- running by the end of this summer.

Welcome! I wouldn't leave her in the snow though! Haha. (your avatar pic)

I would go with magnaflow or borla, flowmasters eh, but too genenric.
suspension, go with global-west or grab-a-trak, leave your leaf springs stock hieght though, but drop your front, i have 1'' coils on mine, 560lb rated springs and she rides really good. not to stiff, comfortable ride, but good handling enough stiffness

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Yeah the pic in the avatar is funny, looks almost like a white vinyle top. It all melted off about an hour after the pic was taken. Got some reccomendations on suspension/exhaust but how about wheels/tires and what sizes?

grab a trak is good for the leafs and suspension. caution on the polygraphite for that year (they tend to squeak) as for the exhaust, it's a classic and classic sound is what makes them cool. FLOWMASTER 3 chamber with H pipe dumped. that's the only way to go. as for other mods, what are you looking at doing?

ryan 65stallion,

yes I saw your post, as I mentioned in my last post; but was asking about reccomendations on wheel/tire sizes as well. I'm just taking my time and comparing my list to what you guys are suggesting to make sure I do this right and don't waste my time/money on stuff that's not going to work.

stangfreak,
I bought the car as a restoration project, I'm keeping it close to original with a few mild mod's. The car still has the original candy apple red paint, but the red/white pony interior was swapped out with black standard int by the po, i've already striped it and am working on putting it back to a pony interior but in blue/white and plan to paint the car blue with white stripes. The rest is still undecided, I do not plan this to be a DD or a race car just a fun weekend family cruiser with capability to drive daily if wanted and weather is nice.

thanks for all the help.
