Night at the Drags....

.... a few pics and a couple of vids from last night's trip to Temple. Also, nice to see the crew from CTMotorsports, Killeen. Props go to Preston for the vids. Enjoy

I believe the N/A run was @ 13.08 and the N2O run was @ 13.2? (only a 75 shot I believe). Overall a decent shakedown night for Mitch and the car, especially since it hasn't seen the track in over a year. Need to dial in the chassis, more seat time, and a better prepped track (can you say SAR).

Once the chassis/traction issue is tuned out, easily a 12 sec range car on motor.

Good times! Now that I'm hooked again I need to get my ass in gear and build the '48.

That NO2 run would have been alot quicker with a quicker 2-3 and if he hadn't missed 3-4. Easily a mid to upper 12 second car even without the spray. Sounds and looks awesome!! Very aggressive.

if that was temple academy dragway, then that explains the times.. that track has DIPS in the left lane just before the 1/8 mark.. a bike lost it there just a few weeks ago.. if he ran 13's at TAD then that's easily mid-high 12's at a better track...

edit:lol i just realized if that IS tad, i was there..

idk... i know from running on that track that it's a horrible surface.. most of the cars that run out there should run better and have run better at other tracks.. on the other hand, i have seen cars that even run their "stock advertised"quarter time.. but my point is for the most part, if you're at TAD and youre not running what you thought you would, it's not a thing to get bummed about..

what does this matter?

same with 14 second cars, never seen one go to 13.5s going to SAR

not to mentin TAD hooooks. SAR is only prepped well if you run on the same weekend as a big event

If you think different, go to HRP and see what traction is like.

Because a lot of race cars, and particularly bracket cars, have a tire and suspensions "cushion" designed in so that they can still hit the number, even on marginal tracks.

Those that drive their car to the track, bolt on slicks, and make quick passes, are usually closer to the ragged edge. A marginally prepped track is more likely to alter their ET.

No reason to be confused and "sorry" for not meeting your expectations, but if you read the 3rd post in this thread you'll see the words "shakedown night". Also no track use/seat time for over a year in that car. Not to mention the different suspension mods.

I was confused since he ran ran slower than in the past. I didnt know if this "new setup" had less power. I was apologizing ahead of time if it did in fact have less power.

I'm still waiting for the car to run bottom 12s. with a little practice, he'll find it.
I didnt even pay attention to your post since he posted in the other thread that he had run 12.7.

really? Thats why sar is so inconsistant for most due to the differences in prep.

he mentioned the hump or dip, not the prep as the cause for a suspected half second difference. I am just not a fan of ricer math, sorry
