Anyone want to see some bullshit? This girl ran from the cop for 8 miles, refused to get out of the car, and resisted arrest... And the officer was fired for not handling her with kid gloves? Six figure settlement? Absolutely ridiculous!

he was a little crazy for reacting like that for a non high speed 8 mile "chase". It was only a traffic ticket. I can kinda understand where she is coming from with the wanting to make sure it was a cop. Not sure if she really believed that or was using that as a cover up, but i have heard horror stories of women being raped and hurt from people posing to be cops. I dont think 6 figures was need either but thats the way the law works. It either all or nothing, just like the person who received over 6 figures for hot coffee.....

Generally, law abiding citizens don't have to be chased, correct? It's inconceivable that he had reason to believe that she's trying to hide something? Maybe she's wanted? Maybe she has a weapon? There's no way for him to know what she's up to.

If anything, he underacted.

if thats your opinion i can see and understand that, put i believe as did the courts, his job, and the general public that he overreacted. Yes she could have been packing but you still can not act like that as a cop based on "could have" Same applies for "could have a gun" and the cop shoots the "person" they have protocols they have to follow to defuse the situation to figure out whether she was packing or not and the cop went over board way to fast.

But you're right. the best way to find out if someone running from the cops has a weapon is to give them ample time and opportunity to bring said weapon into play

I agree with Chips on this one...she may just be stupid...but stupid is what gets public officials killed/injured. His threat perception was elevated due to her disregard of his big flashing lights and clear orders. HAD she been actually wanting to get to a more populated area, she needed simply to turn her hazard lights on, call 911, explain the situation, and through high tech devices called radio's...officer would've been notified and the bitch wouldnt have 6 figure benjamins in her pockets. THE END

no we do know its because he overrated and didnt keep a cool head like a man of he law should. thats the reason why he was fired.
