Angry NO More BS Performance!

I don't mean to sound like a jerk but a month or two back i took my bullitt to nighthawk to have him replace my exhaust. While there, the tailpipe would not fit over the exhaust pipe so we forced it on until i could take it somewhere els to get it fit on there right. Today when i took it to Corvette Country in Austin to have it fixed (have a great mechanic there). Well when we got the car on the lift and looked at it... it looked like a totally shitty job had been done. Some bolts and screws were not even there and the ones that were there were so loose i undid them by hand!!! The muffler brackets were facing down(common sense you are supposed to face the brackets to the side so if they ever get hit your mufflers don't fall out)!!! The 02 sensors had been left hanging down and the catback system was so loose it practically fell of when we were removing it to fix the shoddy work that had been done. It cost me $120 to fix all the crap that was wrong with the installation of my exhaust. I'm sorry but I will never again use BS Performance! Looking at the shitty work that had been done on my exhaust has convinced me. For god's sake the day after the catback system was installed by nighthawk the hangars holding the tailpipes up fell off on the highway!!! So i'm out $120 and the money i wasted at BS Performance and nighthawk sorry but you will probably never recieve business from my family ever again. To think my father and sister were gonna take their stangs to BS performance to have gears put in.. yeah right. Thank goodness i told them to wait. Just letting ya'll know, oh and i don't mean to sound like an asshole, nothing against you personally nighthawk i just was extremely displeased with the quality of work done on my baby.

Since you must post this before contacting me about it, I guess I have to post to defend myself.

Everything was done like I've done 100 times before, everything was tightened as much as it needed to be. The mufflers were hung correctly and placed in their respective factory hangers.

Anything having to do with the tailpipe was the sole fault of the manufacture of the exhaust system because it just didn't fit. You know that, so why try and put that on me? The hanger fell off because it wasn't it the right location because the tailpipe didn't fit. And if you just got it fixed now, I guess you've been driving around with no hanger for how many months? That's probably what lossened some of the bolts. The hanger is there for a reason and thats why I tried to mount it with what I had to work with. Not only that, but I spent TWO solid EXTRA hours working on the tailpipe to try to get it decent looking and fitting. I didn't need to spend that time to try and fix a manufacture defect. Did I charge you for those extra hours? No.

How so? The only reason I do work for cheap is because I don't have overhead like any shop. I do work out of my house and use tools I bought for my use, and I have a normal full time job...so I don't have to pay for any expenses and I don't have to make a living off of it. Also, I don't do work I can't do. (I don't even install gears for people, so if he would have come to me for that I would have sent him elsewhere.) I do work I am very capable of doing and have done many times before. Nobody has ever had a problem with my work and most have already come back to have more done.

That was just a general statement not aimed at anyone. I do side jobs just like you so I can see where you are coming from. I also fix cars for a living and know all the hassles dealing with individuals so you gotta stand behind your work one way or another dude.

That's what my first thought was. Don't you talk to the person that did the work first if you're not happy with it.

A also used to do side jobs at the shop after work so I also know how this stuff works. If somebody has a problem with any work I do I'd hope that they would let me know before going off about it in front of everybody. The person that does the work should at least get a chance to rectify the situation as a start.

Sorry you had a bad experince with BS.. But I have heard a few good things about him. did you try to let him know about it before you forked out more money to get it "fixed". You knew going there it was a side job so I would have atleast call the man to see what he could have done for you.. You would'nt just take your car to one shop pay them and not like the work then take it to another to pay them to do it right. I would have called him up first... Then I would have send this message in a PM just my thought...
