off road x pipe

I'm about to buy an offroad x pipe to put on my 07 gt with stock mufflers. has anyone head this combo if so how is it. also will there be any hp or gas milage increases? I don't want something to loud in the cabin. I was also thinking of keeping stock h pipe and buying the borla axle back exhaust. any opinions would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

btw the pipe is a hooker.

I have a stainless steel offroad x that has been sitting in my garage for a year and a half. I have tried it with a flowmaster and slp exhaust and have not found anything yet that sounds decent with it. The flows mad it loud as heck and raspy to boot, the slps made it even louder and more raspy!

I'd spend my money on a nice axle back and be done with it. I regret waisting money buying the X.

seeing as the flowmasters lose 1 hp over stock mufflers, i say run the x with stock catback. or just run a borla by itself.

I am running stock mufflers with BBK Long tubes and BBK o/r x-pipe. cruising in 5th gear its quiet as hell but when i drop down into 4th it comes alive. if i drop down to 3rd its pretty loud. Also it sounds good at WOT and cruising.

My exhaust setup with a small vid clip.
Stock headers...Offroad X-pipe...cheapie Flowmaster 40 muffs.

Loud...and abnoxious combo....but I enjoy it.

Turns heads everywhere.

In my experience of hearing s197's with only catbacks you will not notice a big difference inside the car.

Thats not to say that you won't notice a difference, but I'm pretty sure for the amount of $$ you spend you will be disappointed.

I think the o/r pipes make the difference. I would do the X on stock and if you don't like it buy some magnaflows or other cb kit.

I would follow the same guidelines the other 4.6's follow.

o/r H with straight through
o/r x with chambered.

( I am comparing this between our 05 ( magnaflow) with Mike 2031's (05 don't remember the brand but i think its the FRPP kit), Bountyhunters (05 roush), Greenhornets ( 05 stock), other various 05's with borla and bassani.) There are slight differences but again to me they were so slight and not enough to justify 4XX.XX$$

OK since I am dumb....Are bassani straight through or chambered?

I'm running an O/R H with Flows on my 07. It sounds incredible. It sounded a bit raspy in certain RPM ranges when it was strictly O/R...so I put high-flow cats on the pipes and it made a world of difference.
