official LSS dove hunt!

*that is supposed to be "dove". i dont know what an "odve" is*

i think there is enough interest to make this one happen.

we will work out details and all that other good stuff in the coming weeks.

important information

if you have never hunted/used a shotgun before and you are interested in coming to the hunt, im sure that one of our members or myself will be more than happy to help you. just let me know...

you must have a valid Texas hunting license for the current season in order to go.

all shotguns must be plugged. the magazine can only hold 2 rounds. maximum capacity is 2+1

*safety will be of the utmost importance at this meet. this will be the first meet of ours involving firearms that is not in the controled inviroment of a range. if you cannot be mature and be safe, it is best that you don't come. anybody who is acting in an unsafe manner will be asked to leave immediately. and under no circumstance will anybody be allowed to drink any alcoholic beverage before or during shooting/hunting*

im not sure yet. i'd like to get as close to san antonio as possible, but i also need to find a place with lots of doves. we might have to drive a couple hours.

there are a lot of places that you can pay for a day hunt. go in the morning and come back at night. maybe a member might have some good hunting land(although i would hate to impose on anyone).

it will probably be ~$25 a person, but if we can get enough people i might be able to get us a group rate. oh, and you will also have to buy a license.

i cant tell you for sure whay kind of hunt we will do. i dont know if we will just sit by stock tanks and wait or if we will flush them out. with a larger group, it would be safer and more effective to just wait.

like i said, in the next few weeks i will start looking into where we can go, how much it would cost, etc...

yeah the problem is... the Odve's only respond to their bird call. And its one hellova a bird call to imitate without a 5 lb weight, a bag of cement, and those really big clown shoes....

Ok I'm sure this is a stupid question but whats involved with getting a liscence?? And why only two shots, I'll have to make a trip to Lowe's to get a dowel rod, that bites. Whats the point in havin a shotgun with 8 shot capacity if I can only use two?!?!

It's three shots. If you need all eight to hit a bird, you will spend a lot on shells :woot:

Just wanted to mention that Hoss hunts at our place and he has had several of his buddies come out and hunt out at our place, We have Dove,Hogs, and turkey. So he may be intrested in having a small group come out and shoot some birds.
