Are you ordering a complete steering rack or just the rack bushings?

You started another thread with questions as to why your car was wondering on the road. Suggestions were made as to what to check but you did not post back as to what you found. If you have not run through the checks these guys suggested you are just throwing new parts and money at the problem. Hopefully you jacked the car up and and found a lot of play in the rack and this is why you are going this route. I am assuming this is the kit you are referring to:

85-93 STEERING RACK KIT, 5.0, W/ NON-OFFSET RACK BUSHINGS. MUSTANG

Depending on the milage of the car it could be the lower control arm bushings, ball joints, inner tierods, outer tierods, rack and pinion, strut mounts, struts, tires (yes, some tires will cause road walk), front hub bearings, etc.

Again, like Mike said is the car lowered? The offset bushings can help with a car that has been lowered as this causes a problem with the front geometry and leads to a condition called bump steer. Typically the offset bushings can work to help offset this condition but they can move the rack too high and get into the oil pan. Another solution to the problem and actually allows a person to tune the front suspension is a bump steer kit. Maximum Motorsports makes several kits but the one the would most likely fix you up would be the MMTR-2. I cannot say how much a car has to be lowered before this is a problem as I have seen cars with this problem from stock height to dropped a couple of inches.
