Well i always thought that Otto's in the fountains was a great place. I mean it gave us a chance to not only meet together, but also spread the word about LSS to newbs out there with stangs.

I know Cullen Park on hwy 6 has big open areas with pavilions and BBQ pits. Its also got a lake with some piers on it. Great scenery and theres hardly anyone ever out there so we would have the whole place to ourselves. Its a grat p[lace, although it might be quite a drive for some.

Yeah. That's a good idea Kebin, but it's a chain reaction if blah blah doesn't go then well blah blah 2 isn't going because he only knows blah blah so then really blah blah 3 isn't going...um..anyways..just make sure it's the right time and planned :mick:

i say we should at least limit the area to inside the 610 loop. hwy 6 is like a 25min drive for some.

First off Id like to thank everyone who has posted (Swingle, Stangchick, Drawlin, 86 Sleeper, Bombero, DpBluestang, The Diesel, Fastang7, & Quiksilvr) for your comments and opinions on this topic. Second Id like to let you know that this thread is primarily to gain information on Houston Area LSS exclusive future events and to help plan our next LSS event as well. I would like everyone else who hasnt sofar posted to feel free to do so. I wish the same from the ones named above to give their opinions on this upcoming event and others. As well as give their input on some potential events and or locations for future events. I think it would be a good idea to to have our future events be in different sides of town (N,S,E,W) so that no one side of town is slated to be the "chosen" or "favourite" side of town. I will be looking for locations on my own for where we can meet and would like to have everyone think of a few things when choosing or refering a location.
1. Is it kid friendly?
2. Is it drinker friendly?
3. Is it smoker friendly?
4. Hows the parking layout?
5. How are the seating accomodations?
6. Hows the variety of food?
I know that I am in no way a moderator and I am not trying to be one. Im just someone who would like to see this chapter gain strength and also some prosperity. So I welcome your opinions and know youd be more than welcome to join us at any of the LSS events we will have.

Because Houston is so big it's hard to pick a "central" location to everyone. That's why it was mentioned to mix it up a bit when it comes to location. As Rene mentioned, if needed be we'll look for locations all over Houston so we can have a variety in location.... We need for anyone interested to take the initiative to make it out and get to know others so the Houston chapter can keep growing. :mustngsha

Well if LSS in Houston is ever gonna grow we need to stick together. Become alot better friends with the whole group by hanging out, drinking, and spending time together talking stangs and stuff. I would hate to think that someone would not come to a meet because it is too far. I mean hell i'll drive anywhere in Houston and even the outskirts like baytown, galveston etc. just to make a meet. If im not working and available, you can always count me in. I have been waiting quite a while for things to come together here in Houston and i thinkwe finally have a group that can pull it off.

Also, dont be shy! Just cause you dont know whyone doesnt mean anything! I remember my first LSS meet, it was in college station at the krogers on Texas. I dont remember who all was there besides Yaaaaaaabuddy, and Fixer, Tire might have been there too. Im shy so i hesitated, but i love stangs too much to not stop in and shoot the shit with some stang guys. So yea, dont be a puss, just come up and say hi, were all friendly.

I agree with all you said and would like to once again just take time out to welcome you and all who would like and want to attend our gtg an open invite. It's slated for the first weekend in June in North Houston. ( 59 and BW8 ) We will make an offical thread next monday. This one is more directed to seeing whos open and to also seeing whos interested in taking this chapter to the next step.

That sounds more like a good time to me than sitting at a reasturant.

i've been at work for about 13hrs so this is most likely a bad idea, but maybe sometime we could do a cruise that hits all four corners so everybody body is involved. I know some peeps don't like to drive 30min to meet up and cruise, but if the train was coming near you you could hop in. since this is a bad idea i will second the g2g on the first weekend as long as finances permit.

hmmm.....allergic to cig smoke and don't drink..... Always had good times with another Houston forum at Hooters, they usually will make room if it is a large enough crowd and most of em have enough parking as well....since I live so far out, north side meets would be the only ones I would be able to attend ( I know....whine whine whine). Looking forward to something cool.....and more than 5-6 people :jeff:

Well, an hour or so once a month sure beats having to drive to S.A. It's pathetic that most would have to do that in order to hang out with a bunch of LSS'ers....We hosted a gtg at our place about a month and a half ago and like 5 people showed up....H-town can surely do better...I would agree that rolling out to Galveston or meeting up at somebody's house sounds like more fun then a restaurant meetup. It's not as if we're doing something every weekend so when we do take the time to plan something out once a month or so then we need to see some people making strides to get to it. At least until we can get a regular group together, and then if people get busy or can't make one due to time constraints every so often then it's no biggie as they'll be plenty of others that will show up....Can't start making excuses during the initial building stages if we're to get anywhere with this......IF it's important to us all, and it seems like it is, then let's persevere and get this thing going strong!!! I'll make any event if enough notice is given, and we'll even host if it helps get h-town going.... :jeff:
