heard a story about someone drowning last week or something?

now paranoid.. don't want me going

give me a list of reasons to rebuttle anything they say
(of why i should be able to go and have a fun time (where no one will be drowning))

Hmmm....

Some of us are from the Olympic Swim Team, and others are Navy Seals, and a few part time Life Guards too. YEah, that'll be the ticket man.

You could just as easily drown in the bathtub. :woot:

The lady that drowned was in a river that was above the normal level and tried to go under a very very low bridge. Put it this way, the water was close enough to the bottom of the bridge that she couldn't see the debris in there. She went in anway and got stuck. Accidents happen. If you're parents are that worried tell them that they have a better chance of being killed on the way to work than you have of having problems on the river. They're worried for nothing. You can honestly say that you'll be tubing with a Firefighter that knows how to save lives.

Really? The way I heard it, thousands of other people didn't drown last week.
Besides, it had more to do with the persons stupidity rather than the fact they were on a river.

That is how I spent last Saturday, diving for that woman, it was about 3 miles from my house. It was just a bad deal all the way.

I can rig the autopsy so it looks like you died from something OTHER than drowning, like a heroin overdose, if that would help

heh heh, I'm a former lifeguard and an BLS certified as well.
