Well it all depends on how much internet banter you care to read. This thread on the Corral has all kinds of links and pros and cons.

ive been doing alot of searching on them and its all i "heard" this and that.. im trying to find someone that has them or had them and what problems they had or didnt have and if they were a good set of heads.. links were broken in the thread you posted. thanks tho
The links are busted as the Corral changed their website platform. To make the links work you replace "www" with "forums". Sorry about that I just noticed it myself. Anyhow, I found two threads on here:
This one is on the modular heads but quality is quality
http://www.lonestarstangs.com/forum/...-2v-42496.html
This one is for a push rod motor:
http://www.lonestarstangs.com/forum/...ads-42670.html
thesource seems to have some knowledge on them so maybe you could PM him for some input.
Other than that I would do a search on the Corral as the pickings here and on Westside Mustangs is limited.

thanks for the post. most the heads that people post are 1500+ without the rockers and pushrods that would be needed to complete them. If the patriots flow just as much, maybe a little less than say the AFR 185s. but are made by a less repuable company what makes them so bad? ive read so much about how "bad" the modular heads were but all the posts are dated 3-5 years old..
im looking for help on this because i dont know much about the difference in heads.. just now how to replace them.
ive also hurd alot about the RHS/Pro Topline but have yet to find them anywhere... any help on that?
I understand what your saying but I would rather spend my money on heads that I know have great quality then some that are from a "less reputable company". Reputation has a lot to do with why people by a certain brand of part. I do see your point in that if no one buys them and tries them out then how do we know we are not missing a killer deal. I just don't see my wallet and an R&D facility so I don't venture off into those waters.
On a different note, why not look for a good set of used heads? I bought a set of used Edelbrock Performers with the 2.02/1.60 valves fully assembled with Crane full roller 1.6:1 rockers and the girdles that tie the rockers together using the rocker nuts for $900.
You could even find a set of bare heads, add the valves, retainers, keepers, and springs of your choice and have them cleaned up and a valve job done at a reputable machine shop. Then you could source a set of used roller rockers and you are in business. Lots of guys on the boards do this and knock several hundred off of a new complete set of heads and end up with better parts.
Anyhow, good luck on the search and hope you find a great set of heads!

I don't have any experiance with any of the heads that are copies, such as the Patriot, RHS, Roush, Renegade, which are all based on the Dart heads. There is also a company making a copy of the GT-40Y head, that thread was just getting started the last time I checked on Corral. RHS and Roush have both been around for a long time, both should produce quality products. Some of the other companies I would spend like to spend a good bit of time looking multiple pairs over and measuring them before buying a pair. I am supposed to install a pair of RHS heads on a customers car soon. One of my suppliers sells them, so I checked out the RHS website, found RHS is now part of Comp Cams and the flow numbers they have listed looked pretty good. If they flow anywhere near as good as they claim, they should be some good heads. As for Roush, I am not a Roush fan and the heads they are selling look very close to exact copies of a Dart heads and from what I have read, they seem to flow very close to what Dart heads flow, but the prices are higher because of the Roush name and most likely they are cast by Dart/ World Products. So I would rather spend my money on the RHS heads. Dart/ World Products may also be casting the RHS heads, since RHS has been a big World Products dealer for a long time.
A little info on RHS, they started out in the '70s or early '80s porting factory iron heads in high volume, mainly Chevy and Ford heads. Later they started selling complete engine packages and also selling and porting Dart heads. So they should have some have knowledge of how to make a cylider head flow well.
The current combo is an '85 coupe with 302 bored and stroked to 364, Ported Twisted Wedge heads and a BXR intake, A9M ECM with a Moates chip, Doug Nash 5 spd, 4.56 gears, Hoosier 275/60/15 drag radials.
Daily driver '89 GT 302 stock block, crank, rods and pistons, ported GT-40P heads with stock valves, Ported Explorer intake, B302 cam, Z spec T5, 3.73 gears, Moates chip and no traction. Made 325 whp and 325 wtq.
Thanks Sonic, that was some great info. Ive gone away from Patriot and found a set of brand new Edelbrock E-Streets with new hardened pushrods and arp bolts for 900. Heads should be a good match to my little mild setup daily driver.
Edelbrock heads are a good choice, they are very high quality and make good power to very good power depending on which heads you get.

i got a set of E-streets. next thing i gotta get is some rockers.. are Proform rockers any good?
I have ran the patriot heads on a 302. They are almost an exact cast as the afr185. Nearly identical except the finish machine work, afr is alot better with the final machining. If you want afr185 performance at a patriot price they ar worth it. Great little head forthe price!
All the reviews Ive read on them say dollar for dollar the flow as well and perform as well as the more expensive competitors. I plan to get a set of these for the FACH in the future. I kinda want to finish it and get it on the road before I start anymore "performance" mods.

Fathom the odd hypocrisy that Obama wants every citizen to prove they are insured, but people don't have to prove they are citizens.
If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you weren’t a racist, you’d better vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you’re not an idiot.

It's up to the voters to remove the other!
