Dynamat is heavy and once installed its hell removing. Thats my opinion of the stuff. Im sure some of the audio gurus will chime in and tell you how to get good sound from your speakers. All my mustangs have always had decent sounding systems in them and i have never used dyna-mat.

Go to Caraudioforums.com . Then go to the speakers subfolder and finds the Sticky "sound deadening and you".
Your link didn't work for me but I know dynamat is over priced. Look on ebay and go to google and search for other deadeners like Raamat, Second Skin, eDead etc etc.. Floating on the net is a comparo of most of the deadeners. You will find that the original Dynamat ( not extreme) is not different than "Peal & Seal". P&S is a roofing product that doubles as sound deadener as it is virtually identical to alot out there. Buyer Beware though.

Dynamat Extreme is the way to go. I am HEAVY into car audio so I speak from experience. Dynamat in doors will not only greatly improve the sound of your speakers, but will also cancel out road noise. It gives the doors a good solid feel and placing it on the metal components within the doors such as lock rods etc. will eliminate "ghost" rattles. In the trunk be careful when putting Dynamat on your deck lid. As bighoss said, it is hell removing and looks pretty bad if you can see it. So lay it in your 1/4 panels and through out the spare tire well. Also if doing the roof, use only Dynamat Extreme or similar tar and foil type sound proof because once the headliner is on you can't tell when your Dynamat falls down. The heat is way too much for the adhesive on the rubber matting. There are MANY benefits of sound proofing your car, so I would have to say it's worth the investment. Accoustic reverberation is your enemy when looking for sound quality.

Water heater insulation will work just fine for the normal person (ie, those not like lazer96gt
). You can get it at hardware stores; it's kinda hard to find, but it's aluminized on one side, adhesive on the other, and it's pretty thin so it will go under carpet. I think it's about $20 a roll, and it took 2 rolls to do the entire interior (floors, doors, trunk) of my BF's '69 Camaro.
