Please Help Me!!!
I just bought a '92 5.0 and when my EGR vacuum(U.F.O. lookin' thing behind the throttle body) is plugged in and also is my idle sensor on the front of the throttle body, my car doesn't idle back down correctly. When I give it gas in neutral, the RPMs raise and then sit there for a second or two and then slowly make their way back down to normal. When driving the car, it gets really jumpy and sounds like there is a bad exhaust leak on that side of the motor, but this can't be because I just replaced my header gaskets two days ago. But when I try and start the car with them unplugged when my car is still cold from the night before, I have to push in the accelerator to the floor and pump it while turning the key in order for the throttle body to open and allow air into the motor(this only happens when my car is cold). Should I replace my EGR and idle sensor, or just have the car re-tuned to where it works with both plugged in? Thanks for any help.

Check for possible vacuum leaks. Also I once had a TP sensor do what you have described.

Got diagnostic tests done today. Apparently my air-to-fuel mixture is incorrect due to bad wiring from the loom going to the EGR vacuum. Atleast that's what I got from the conversation. I got a list of the problems that it told us for ex. EGR not seating, air system not functioning, air to fuel out of range, no EGO signal. He capped the vacuum line that ran to my EGR vacuum and now the car doesn't feel jumpy anymore. With a little luck, I hope this can get me around for a couple more weeks before my father and I tear the motor down and give it a good "once-over". Any more advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
