reason I'm asking is that Kenne Bell recomends Denso Iridiums which I am running, but I don't think they are lighting the fuel like I want. NGK-R or V-Power is what I'm thinking about running. good or bad idea? need some input.

iridium plugs are good for mild aplications but the iridium button is so small it is very easily fouled in a supercharged / turbocharged aplication

ngk tr-7 or 8 will do you just fine . tr-6 is the STOCK heat range.

apparently that's what's happening. and after changing plugs in several vehicles this week that have Iridiums, I wonder WTF? why would Kenne Bell recomend them? Everything I know tells me NGKs are the way to go I just needed ya'll to confirm. I bought the TR6s already, but I need to go with the 7s if they are 1 step cooler. thanks for the help.

thought it had Iridium, but it had TR6s. I put the TR6s in it, but may try the TR7s. still running rich but I don't have the top end "fall-off" past 6k like before. I think that the plugs were over gapped so they were getting blown out. I set the gap at .032 but not sure if that's the best for my app. thoughts?

changed plugs again. I had originally gapped the plugs with a Champion Gapper at .032. I decided that I would open them to .035. Just out of curiosity I bought a bad ass gapper/feeler to gap the new plugs with. when I check the plugs that I removed gapped at .032 with the new gapper, they showed to be .028. So Champion gappers suck. Gapped at true .035 and huge power difference.

i have a mildly used set of autolite race plugs in the garage, ar473's.. they're my preferred plug for nitrous. if you want to try them out, i wont need them for a while. they're copper core, recessed tip and non-projected. I believe they're the same heat range as the TR6's. same specs, so they're interchangeable. just let me know. AR472 are one step colder, and should match a TR7.

if you want a projected tip plug (which might not be best for boost), AR94, AR93, and AR92 should also work. the last number being the heat ranges. lower numbers are colder plugs on autolites.

here's a good page for plug references: nitrous plugs quick reference guide - Corral Forums

I use TR6's in my 04 and my TA. There is no such plug called a TR-8. If you look for them you will not find them. Its a slang term used. The proper part # is NGK 4554 - R5671A8 . #8 heat range This is rated a racing plug.
