it makes no difference. everyone gets broken into here - it doesn't matter if you're an old guy, a soccer mom, or a kid playing loud music.

if they don't break into your car, they'll break into your garage. ive had both happen to me... more then once.

arrowhead.

arrowhead and the surrounding neighborhoods(stone mountain, the summit, estates of arrowhead, etc.) are very bad for break-ins. at night, you can see people driving around looking for cars to break into, and then once every one or two weeks, a bunch of cars will be hit in one night. it's usually either the people who come up from the ghetto, or the punk kids that live in the area. the cops say that it's pretty common for this area. there are only two cops that patrol this entire area, so it's pretty easy for the thieves.

you just have to be extra careful - don't leave any valuables in your car, use your alarm if you have one(if you don't, then get one), make sure to replace the keypad on your garage door opener(when the numbers on the buttons start to wear out, replace the pad), and always use the elctronic lock on the garage door.

Found a nice little house in a gated community called Panther Springs off Blanco - just north of 1604 (potential candidate)

anyone familiar with this area?

Pops just built a house out there off Blanco somewhere (I forget the subdivision name). It seems to be nice and quiet out there.

yeah...thats an area under heavy consideraton....were trying to stay within a few minutes drive of Stone Oak Pkwy, since thats where my parents live, and we'll be getting free daycare (luv ya mom!).

So anywhere from Blanco to Red Land or Gold Canyon, north of 1604 is the area of choice for us.

yup good place. i dont know the subdivision by name, but i know the area. ive got some friends that live up there at promontory point, and a friend up there in timberwood. never really heard of any crime up there either, now that i think about it. seems like a pretty cool place, just a little isolated from a lot of SA since its up blanco a ways... but a lot of times thats a good thing. :jeff:

there IS a good back road that leads straight to stone oak, from the area as well. i think you take wilderness oak to harvey road (right? or is it called something else? i always forget the name of that road) and then youll pass stone oak elementary, and intersect stone oak pkwy between arrowhead/las lomas and evans road.
