Post minimum/chatbox/reorganized FS section

I think we should bring the minimum post count back for the classifieds.

I want a chatbox.

The FS section should be reorganized into subcategories, like power adders/appearance/ suspension...will make it easier if you dont do the minimum post count thing for me to find shit with all the sub 10 post sellers we get these days

+1 ! if you need someone to cruise the forums for ya from time to time I can help out as a mod. Just lmk ! We get to many 1 time sellers who try to bump up their count by posting 20 times to the welcome post. Or they start some bs thread and post 20 times to try n boost their count as well. Maybe even a time prior along w post count before being able to post in the classifieds. It might eliminate some of those overnighters who whore up a thread.

And you guys wouldn't believe how many freakin' emails I got every single day from new members asking simply: "Why can't I post?!"

They weren't specifically asking "why can't I post in the classifieds?" They just thought they weren't allowed to post at all. lol

And I got tired of explaining it to them every single day. Even an announcement thread in the classifieds didn't help.

What about a popup at registration time ? Is that possible ? Not so much in the scroll through registration but afterwards before the confirmation? I figure pop ups are so annoying that they wld atleast have to acknowledge it.

Don't think I can do a pop up. I can make all new registered users receive a new PM with that info. But who knows if they'll actually read it. lol

As a newbie, I think a post count minimum is a great thing to have. Cuts back on the people who don't share our passion!

Not sure about the chatbox, but I do think the minimum post count should've stayed last time. If they can't read, too bad. Ignore them!

I think the minimum post requirement just runs up the useless comment chatter. I am an example of someone who is on LSS everyday to learn, check the for sale stuff, and just see whats up but I rarely post. I do like the idea of catergories for the classifieds but think Jeff will have a hell of a time moving incorrect posts. And a lot of people sell multiple items in one post....

I think those are mostly local. Most of them have chatboxes too. TXR isn't too bad they have some nice cars on there, but the rest are mostly honda/acura IIRC.

I try to look for S197 items, but it gets drowned out by the hundreds of older parts, so I pretty much dont' even check anymore.

An IM would be nice, though a chatbox could may possibly be a bad idea of a lot of people typing at once and all that non sense would follow. IM would appear to fit best.

Classifieds for parts, I think should be broken up into people selling parts for the Gens, i.e. 99-04, 05-10.

And Yes, we should bring the minimum post count back for the classifieds.
