pro 5.0 shifter?

hey guys well just got my shifter and wanna put it in and do i have to put my factory small cup like bushing at the end of the pivot on my short shifter, im confused, cuz ive never been told that. any advice on the installation?

I know you need to use it on a Tri-Ax, so I assume you need it on the Pro.5.
Does it fit over the ball on the shifter?
If so, place the bushing in the cup on top of the transmission and then put the shifter in place.
