PROBLEM PLEASE READ: New smoked 99-04 headlights from Blueovalindustries

Vehicle: 2000 Mustang GT, bone stock, original body panels and headlights!

Item: 99-04 smoked headlights from blueoval. Boxes of headlights, say Eagle Eyes, which im sure is the manufacturer.

Yesterday, I reveived a pair of smoked headlights from blueoval industries. I went ahead and attempted to install them. NO LUCK!!! well after 1+ hour of messing with the passenger light, I noticed that the round plastic pieces, that lock the bubs into the housing, were too large, and were no clearing the metal brackets in the support. After, realizing that I had to push down on these part of the headlight to force it down, to allow it to clear the metal hole, the passenger headlight finally went in!

Driver headlight, well since it already knew about thet round/cylinder piece around the bulb, I went ahead and pushed down on it, as I pushed/forced the headlight in, and yup, in it went, put it flush against the fender and bumper, as far as it would go. AND this is where another little surprise arises, the tabs which extend through the other side of the metal bracket are too short!!! Now how the hell was I supposed to secure the headlight to the bumper!? I spend about 20+ mins making sure it wasn't my fault, double checking that the headlight was properly ligned up with the fender. It was on their properly! I took pictures to document the findings, wrote them an email and explained to them what happened. Granted I was very frustrated/pissed that I just had wasted 3+ hours dealing with the damn things, SO i might have been a little rude/sarcastic as they put it. According to them (blueoval), it seems like I can not install a simple pair of headlights?, weird, seing as how my stockies were back on in less that 5 mins! The problem, with the driver headlight, is that the tabs dont extend far out enough to allow for the metal retainer to go through them and secure it to the bumper! Let this forum be the judge, and let the pictures speak for themselves. I am no fool and can work a wrench more than enough to be able to install a simple pair of headlights! I persisted for about 3+ hours to try to get the damn things in. But, in the end, I mut be wrong, since they claim these headlights have been sellng for the past 7 years. Ironically, my stockies, fit like they should!? Hmmm...Im guessing, manufacturing errors dont exist, and everything that comes from china, japan, taiwan, etc. is free of DEFECTS!!!!!?!?!!

YUP! as old and dirty as it is! It fits perfect, and It was me who put it in, and it was also me who couldnt put it the new ones!? I just dont get it? Split personality maybe? iono.....

I was offered my money back, but they still insisted that It must be my fault. Plenty of attitude and was directed towards me though, in a converstion over the phone this morning.

sucks man - yeah I've been burnt before on headlights. I bought new ultra clear headlight set from ebay for $110 shipped. Can't remember the seller. I thought it was a good deal until when received. Found the align screws used to align light beam were stripped. It was on the driver's side only. Sucks cuz the beam is hitting low and with the stripped screw I can't adjust to lift beam up.

shit, anybody here in Houston. i Picked up a sweet set, from some auto parts store down on ranking rd and 45. $120, those were made by Light Depo? I told the guy i didnt want no eagle eyes garbage! and since I live about 5 mins away from the place, I took my car there and had them installed on the spot, cause i told him bout my experience with the eagle eyes and the shitty company that sent them to me. AND low and behold!! the fit beautifly!!! man I knew it could not be me. They look so good! I did put a bead of black silicone, around all the edges wheres the plastic and rear case meet, just for good measure. Very good quality headlights much better than the eagle eyes, we compared both, because the store had both on hand.

So i have been trying to call blue oval, their line sounds busy!!?!? since wednesday!? I did shit out their garbage back to them today and will call them tomorrow, I hope they pick up, wonder why I company would not have phone service!?!?! Or else I will take it up with my credit card company, ebay, and put a complaing to the BBB.
ANybody know anything else I can do. Pics will be up tomorrow with the new headlights and new front goodies I have aquired over the past weeks, so ya can see how I roll, its my first stang, but IM loving the hell out of it!!!

Wink

I had similar issues when I bought my smoked projectors from stangmods.com. It took me probably an hour of messing with it before I realized that the cover was hitting the support just like yours. I simply removed it and clearanced the cover and problem solved. It just sucked that it took so long for me to figure it out. I think you'll probably find that issue with a lot of aftermarket products. It never fits exact as stated. And as far as the tabs on the back, I had that problem also, but just put a little extra force to it and got the pins in. Also, the weather stripping that came with them didn't fit well and eventually got removed because I was in a minor front end collision which required bumper/support replacement. Well long story short, the shop lost the strips that didn't fit right in the first place and claimed they were never there... All worked out though, because it looks way better and cleaner without that trim. Seems you got the problem fixed already, but just thought I'd chime in.

hmm, I hope i get my money back! the assholes have not been picking up the phone for the past week? WTF are they runnig?!?!! Since I had already expressed my disgust with their prduct through an email, which was answered, and a phone call on monday morning, they knew I was returning them, they told me to do so. But I have been calling and calling asking for a return authorization # but nothing so i said screw it and paid my own return shipping and dropped them off at UPS on friday, they should have them this thursday. They said Id get my money back! and I will ask for a full refund!!! Yeah the time, tell me about it, I spend about 2+ hours trying to figure out why the damn things wouldnt clear like bigdrumma22 was talking bout!

I did however get a sweet set from a local parts store by my house, these lights ware made by lighting depo,? much better quality and fitment!! I'll try to get some pics of the ride sometime this week...
