I just found a killer deal on an 99+ Style 8.8 Ford Axle Setup including: Moser 31 Spline Hardened Axles, FMS 3.73 Gears, Eaton Truetrac Diff, FMS Rear Cover with Braces, Welded Axle Tubes, All new seals and bearings. 1000 miles of use. Since i needed these after i get done with the motor i went ahead and picked them up, plus you can't beat free labor. He wants a stock 7.5, so we're gonna swap them out on each other's car.

with your projected power i'd be kinda scared to crack the block. not many v6s put out tha tmuch and the few that do (i konw of a turbo'd one that puts out 600+ on race gas) i wouldn't trust with longevity. i'm sure you've done your homework i'm just going to put in my .02 because it'd be a shame to get this completed and crack your block with too much power and a less than perfect tune.

that built rear looks like it is exactly matched for your probable output IMO... nice going.

i don't know if 42#ers will be enough for your projected output, but the pump should be fine. i have a formula from ford when i get back to cali i can plug your info in and get what size fuel items you need if you want.

have you started mocking the motor up and seeing if that adapter plate/intake/blower all play well together?

and what are you going to do about tranny, i haven't seen anything mentioned? even a HD t5 will def. not last with that kind of power. the only "low cost" option i see is a tko 500 or similar and somehow getting a slightly used one on the cheap.

good luck with the work, it seems like a fun plan.

Seeing as how no one has ever cracked a 3.8 block because of the power makes me feel warm and tingly inside. I'm looking to push arround 11 psi witch should net me a little over 400hp, i think i can live with that. I think the 42's should be enough, but plug it in and let me know what to says

There have been other v6's on other v6 forums that have done this build and have no problems. I have pretty much gutted their brains with questions.

As for the tranny, that will be my last upgrade before i work on body and paint. I was leaning towards a C4, but i haven't really looked into it much.

I made a list of what i want to do to my car before i'm done with it and it looks like this:

-full exhaust
-Built 4.3L
-boost
-built rear end
-tranny
-body and paint

I'm happy to mark 2 things off that list.

alright, i'll try to remember to. it'll be a couple weeks. i thought people have cracked a few 3.8's from power? i know the supercoupe blocks are stronger, as are some of the later 4.2 blocks (more webbing in the valley, if memory serves). good to know though, and good luck.

who is porting your head? I did not read the intire thread. I will after I make this post.

I would honestly mess with the stock v6 t5 until it goes eventually.

May I suggest Harold @ port pros for your head porting. I have seen some serious numbers out of his stuff and the heads he has done for us. And you dont have the BS run-around waiting time that many of the SA porters will give you.

he did a set of of lt1 heads for us that outdid AFRs. I have seen strong numbers and port design on all of his 4.6 stuff as well.
