Project 4.2L M112 v6 :Updated with pics!
Well i'm gonna start a motor build to do on the weekends and as money allows, so it's going to take some time. I'm hoping to prove you can be powerful and reliable. My engile will be built from scrach, from the block up to the M112 supercharger on top. Hoping to get it done and dropped in my car within a year and 1/2.
It will consist of: 3.8L block, honed and balanced 4.2L crank Fordged pitions and rods. Ported heads(not sure on what heads yet) Ported intakes M112 supercharger kit(found on 03 cobra's) water/meth I am doing this build as money allows, so it will take a while. Once it's done, i'm hoping to be arround 400-450rwhp in a daily driver. I will post pics as often as i get things done. First things first, I need an engine stand... Edit: Made a parts list. Here it goes. 2002 3.8L v6 block .030" bore 4.2L crank (4.3L with the bore) Scat forged 351/408W H-beam rods ARP rob bolts Wiseco forged 8.7:1 pistions rings and pins Stage 3 ported heads (260cfm intake/170 cfm exhaust) 1.94/1.56 Stainless Steel valves CompCams 26981 valve springs(but thinking about getting stronger beehive springs) 1.7 ratio adjustable roller rockers Hardened pushrods 2118/224 cam SFI approved harmonic balancer and aluminum flywheel Stage 2 clutch Ported lower intake Eaton M112 blower 310lph fuel pump 42# injectors This is going to be one sick v6 once it's done. Cobra and bolt-on GT's beware.

SSM(super six motorsports) has released an adapter plate for the upper intake of 99-04 v6's. There is a kit that mysteed on 3.8mustang.com is going to produce for a decent price, complete with everything you will need to bolt up to a stock motor.
On a side note, i got my engine stand and will be picking up an engine this weekend. ![]()

Here's some pics of me tearing it apart.
And bandit, we'll run once i get it in ![]() On stand ![]() Exhaust off ![]() Upper intake off ![]() Valve covers and fuel rails off ![]() Lower intake off ![]() That's my breaker bar, some of those dam head bolts were on there good. ![]() ![]() Heads off ![]() Here's what the pistions look like, they've been sitting for a while as you can tell. ![]() ![]() Now i need to get a hold of a pulley puller and get that crank pully off, drop the oil pan and pull the pistions, and get the block bored.

![]() ![]() ![]() You can have it balanced without the balance shaft, but i'm going to leave it in, not worth the 3hp. On a side note, i made a list of everything that will be in my built engine once i have it done. cobra's and bolt on GT's beware. 2002 3.8L v6 block .030" bore 4.2L crank (4.3L with the bore) Scat forged 351/408W H-beam rods ARP rob bolts Wiseco forged 8.7:1 pistions rings and pins Stage 3 ported heads (260cfm intake/170 cfm exhaust) 1.94/1.56 Stainless Steel valves CompCams 26981 valve springs(but thinking about getting stronger beehive springs) 1.7 ratio adjustable roller rockers Hardened pushrods 2118/224 cam SFI approved harmonic balancer and aluminum flywheel Stage 2 clutch Ported lower intake Eaton M112 blower 310lph fuel pump 42# injectors Total cost ----------- More than i want to know. And i am doing most of the work.
