You should do a 5 speed swap while you have the engine out since your putting the longtubes on.

I would do 3.73's i had 4.10's in my old 98 GT had the same set up as yours minus the cams and all i did was spin everywhere i go from a stop on a daily driving basis. Unless you want to squeeze everything out of your car to get the best ET then go with the 4.10's but make sure you run a good slick otherwise they will be useless.

With the mods he has i think 3.73's would be perfect, I could understand if the car was bone stock or just exhaust then yeah i would say go all out with 4.10's or 4.30's to get a good gain in accel. but since he is already going to be making some good power 4.30's would be overkill IMO. There will only be good bottom end torque with 4.30's and no top end, at least with 3.73's you can have a little bit of both worlds.

why on earth would 430s be overkill.. he is able to spin more rpms because of the cams.. his car would rape in the 1/4 with 4.30s. Those hitechs will pull strong all the way to 6400, 3.73s wont do them any justice.

Just my opinion everyone that i knew who was running 10's or 11's low 12's had 3.73's. They all said 4.10's were overkill.

well I can understand the people running 10s and 11.. but you can run in the 12s all day long with 4.10s.. which his car will not be out of the 12, so he doesnt need to worry. as his car its after this IF he went with 4.10s or 4.30s he would have a mid 12 sec car. 3.73s would only slow him down untill he runs out of gear for his trap speed... which he wont. He wont run out of gear untill he traps higher than about 118.. he doesnt have the power for that

I thought it was annoying since i would shift thru all 5 gears just going down the block. I dont know if this is his daily driver or not but it does get annoying over time thru my experience and others.

Dude.. that calculator takes into account the auto. That calculator that i posted is one of the most accurate around. you even plug in your tire widths. The calculator you used was way off. Plug it in yourself and see.. at 3700 rom he would be going 90

Yea Cliff knight is a bad ass. Iv talked to him on the phone a few times about some tuning stuff. Hes incredible bright. He does a lot of home research and evaluations on things. Me and him were working together to help develop some stuff for Delta Force tuning. I learned a lot from him.

I know that what do you think D stands for.....................Drive aka 3rd gear OD would be 4th or somewhere around .60 or so........
And its 4th in a 5 speed or 6 speed....
