That thing is going to need a tune bad before it will idle... Even drew's car with those cams had some idle issues and it was a 5 speed. But shoot at least it'll be running!

almost happened today, we ended up getting stuck running around looking for nonpi fuel rail lines... that we didnt find so we made our own...and hopefully they are gravy.

fusebox not getting power, believe i found the wire that somehow got disconnect out of its connector, hopefully after I connect it somehow, everything fires over, everything gets power except the fuse boxes, can hear the fuel pump, starter etc etc when key turns over.

Also, Ray's car is a lesson into making sure whoever you buy a used car from at least did routine maintenance on it. Just FYI. I'll elaborate more after we get it fired up and driving.

everything is ready for it to be started, except hopefully this one wire, he's picking up some 8gauge wire, larger connectors, and new negative battery terminal cable, on his way over after work, so I can fix this disconnected wire properly. Hopefully this is the problem, if not gonna go back and start checking the starter connections, grounds, etc.

Yeah I can't find anything on how else to disable it except through a tune so IDK, i checked and rechecked, and checked again for a missing ground or something and I can't find anything not ground or not connected.

it was the ignition switch wiring causing the problem like Steve said

oil galley plugs....were not in the PI Swap article we used...Ray tossed his NPI heads after his stepdad helped him put on the PI ones, where can we find oil galley plugs?

Well one more kick in the pants for Ray, since noone swapped the front or rear plugs in, I'm pretty sure that the ones on the deck of the heads were not swapped either.

or kept the heads and oil galley plugs, not overlooked or missed that step completely or double checked everything before/after putting the heads on.

nonetheless though I found new oil galley plugs so we will fix our overlooking.

question on the nightmare...was engine removed to do head swap?

here is why i ask...im no engine guy but had to learn quick for work on my cobra..

when i had to do my heads for valve repair i did it with engine in car...the cam bolts werent tightened and it broke the gear...i had to remove the heads again and send to shop..they did cover all repair bills for thier misstake,,other than my labor...

this time i had to pull engine to look for metal in pan from gear..wow im so glad i did...it would have went boom...the oil screen was almost completly covered from silicone that falls from timing chain cover..ford was in there once for head replacement...than from manual you only put small amounts of silicone and in certain spots,,,

i found junk in the oil cooler also

hope this thing fires up...i recall owing some beer....would be nice to meet

so now for anyone that does a headwap or builds a motor ...oil galley plugs...they may only cost $.55 a piece...but so fkn important.
