i thought you were going with a turbo and someone local for the install. Like a sponsor or something. what happened?
the kit is cool though.

I changed my mind on the turbo... I just decided I didn't want to go that route.
THR is a sponsor of LSS, I just haven't received their banner from them yet, so I haven't officially annonced it. Trust me, this is still going to be a beast... this is just Stage I.

I have asked brian at THR the same question, but he says it will be more than strong enough.

it may well be for this round, but I would say just spend the money once and get the 8.8. If you plan more you are going to need it, so I would just ditch the 7.5 before you put any money into it. I would think it would only be a couple more hundred to get the 8.8 which would already have the track loc.

so what made you wave your decision from a turbo. i thought that was the whole idea behind buying the s197 v6, for package that pmp was offering. was it not good enough?

i find it REALLY hard to believe that the rear end will hold up.. ESPECIALLY with drag radials.. dr's are BRUTAL on rear suspension and axle parts.. but then again, i'm not the expert....

Brain at THR has told me that the built 7.5 will handle it, and I trust his word. Besides, if it doesn't handle it... he will make it right.

oh i'm not saying i'll beat you... but i know it will be fun either way!
it's going to take me a lot of practice to get used to racing with some real power.... remember, i'm used to 175rwhp. so win or lose, i will be getting some much needed practice while having a blast at the track. and that's what it's all about, right? ![]() but, if i win that would be pretty sweet too.

the way it was explained to me by dean is that slicks have more give in the sidewall so they dont put as much immediate stress on the rear end.. they kinda ease it on there.. where as dr's are a lot more solid.. so a lot more sudden impact.. and like i said i'm no expert and i'm sure he will make it right... i'm just putting in my .02

i will agree on the slicks vs drag radials point made above.
My only addition to is that if the drag radials hook well, then they could pose more of a problem. However, since they do have less of a contact patch, they are easier to spin on you as well and that will just make you look dumb. LOL What is the E.T.A. on the car Jeff? |

it won't be sent up to THR for about a month. The Procharger kit has been ordered, but it takes some time for them to ship it, and we are also waiting on Stainless Works or Kooks to release their Longtube headers for the car. Both companies are weeks away from releasing the product.
Once he gets all of the stuff in, he will pick up the car and he said he should be done with it in a week. ![]() -jeff |
