I know he needs some work on his dyno, but it didn't show case the Whipple very well.

It was very good meeting people and getting to know familiar faces better. Wish I could have attended the BBQ, but had a business get together that I had to make.

I hope the plugs fix it .. ialso after i did some thinking it might be the previous tune has alot of timing retard built into it with temperature as a safety margin for your daily use.

we all know that pd blowers suffer a lot of heat soak and with a good cool down i could easily see a car such as yours gaining 30-40 rwhp .. but 90 is just to much.

The dyno brakes have been replaced it simply was a case of the dyno needing a new set of pads .. it does have over 8 thousand runs on it.

the dyno was calibrated at the same time and a completly new electronics stack from dynojet was installed due to a intermittent problem with the stack not comunicating with the computer..

end result ..

The shop car makes exactly the same horsepower before and after servicing the dyno so the numbers are acurate.

it just needed brake pads.

as for the fan question since this came up a couple times ill explain.

We do have multiple fans .. However it simply is not needed for two horsepower pulls unless you want fake inflated cool down numbers.

a fan does nothing except to artificialy inflate numbers by cooling the intake when your talking about doing two pulls.

it also makes for a unrealistic tune if left on all the time while tuning.. as the car simply does not run with that cool of a intake and heads block etc in the real world during daily driving.

every car that is dyno tuned at psi has a fan placed in front of the radiator when tuning due to the number of runs being made but the fan gets turned off during pulls so as not to alter the tune and or dyno results.

we use the fan to keep the car at a constant temps tate of between 180 and 215 degrees or in other words what it would see in real world driving.

If you do not do this and you let the car cool to much between runs you end up with a tune that is off at operating temperature and more timing then can be tolerated with the engine at full operating temperature.

a fan is absolulty NOT needed when doing two pulls as there is not enough time and heat soak and only serves to artificialy inflate numbers as it causes air flow over the intake and other engine parts that simply is not there in real world use.

some shops may like to do this before very run and also like to cool the car way down with a fan before making final horsepower numbers so they can show the customer a gee wiz number but we prefer to give the customer real world results and then do a cool down pull to show the customer what kind of a difference in horsepower he could see at the track by cooling the car between rounds.

Jeremy sorry to give you the bad news bout the intercooler.

we checked his car out the foloowing week and his problem was the liquid to air intercooler in his vortech kit is leaking water internaly and was blowing water into the motor and blowing the spark out.

hes deciding now if he wants to replace it or convert the car to air to air intercooled like the shop 06.

Was nice to meet everyone feel free to call if you have any needs for pricing or tech questions on your cars.

i undertand the fan part in regards to a motor's operating temperature, but for a car with an air to air cooler it seems that you would want a fan blowing on it to make resemble a true run in the open air. If not, then IAT would be much higher than what the car actually sees.
Do y'all address this?

the car in question had no air to air none of the cars that day did .. if a vehicle has a a to a cooler we have a very directional fan that is blown into the intercooler and simulates arounda 50 mph wind across the cooler.

The timing retard may be the problem. All but two plugs looked good. The two that were questionable looked a little black from to much gas maybe fouled.
