That's a good question. I hope someone lets us know soon. I did it back a few years ago with an 89 GT but I guess those brain cells burnt out. I can't remember.

Yes you have to plug the holes in the back of the heads. You can do it several ways. You can go to the harware store and buy a bolt and screw it into the larger hole, you can cut the ends off of the tube that runs back there, flip them around so the flat part is against the head and screw it back into place or you can order the correct plug from summit or someplace and do it that way.

Matter of fact, if there is someone in the SA area needing them, I think I still have 2 of the plugs brand new sitting in my tool box but ill have to check.

Any idea on the size of the hole to plug? Any help is greatly appreciated by me and others.

there are plugs out there for this also.

When I took my smog off i just unbolted that tube from the back of the head and used it as a template and cut a piece of scrap sheet metal, drilled two holes, put some RTV on it and bolted that to the back of the head.

5/8s npt spark plug will plug the hole. break off the porcelain part. Thats how I did it when had E7s
