Question 91 5.0

My girlfriend just got her car out of the shop. The original owner had taken off the mass air and 02 harness among a few other things. We had the shop put in a mass air harness, a 73 mm c&l with 19 lb calibration tube, an A3M computer, a new o2 harness, new o2 sensors, and a new iac (the old one had a piece of cardboard blocking it off?). The car seems to run very differently now. I'm not real sure how to describe it. It seems to stay revved high. when you rev it to 2 grand it stays there for like 2 seconds and then flies up to 3 grand very quickly. What could this be? the car doesn't have any performance parts other than 4.10 gears, longtubes, and a mass air. When we bought the computer the seal at the bottom was kind of torn off. Is it possible that the computer has a different tune? How could I get this checked? Would this be bad for the car in any way? Any help is greatly appreciated.

get you a code reader form your local parts store they are like 35-40 bucks, or find someone that has one and run codes on it. that will narrow it down some more to what could be the problem

The paper that covers the hole in the bottom of the ECM is there to cover the J port. If the paper has been pull off or back. It probably had a chip installed at one time. I could be a ECM problem, very possibly there is something else wrong with it. Possibly related to the IAC.

Get a code scanner and run the EEC for codes. Post back with the results and we can go from there.
