Radio Installation Help!

I have a 06 with a shaker 500 and want to install a dvd/mp3 and a motorized lcd. Every I go people say that it is real difficult to do considering I have the skaker 500. They say since the subs are amped to the factory radio that you will have to rewire the whole thing. I need some help guys on what to do or someone that can hook me up.

Do a search on themustangsource.com for exactly what you talking about. I have thes shaker 500 as well and changed the head myself. The metra harness from crutfield comes with the adapter to convert the sub plug from the factory harness to RCA. All you need after that is a Y-rca plug to go mono on the subs (500 only uses 1 input, 1000 uses both). The subs will pop due to the 12 volt on source, the fix for that is radio shack 5v resister. Wire it in series with the remote wire for the amps and no more pop!

I know this shounds confusing but it really is simple. I'm a perfectionist and wired my amp subs and headunit into the car in 3 or 4 hours. Do the search I recommended and you'll get all the info you need.

If you still can't figure it out I can help you install it as well, it really is simple!

Radio help!

I was wondering if you can help guide me through the process or it would be better if I could meet you since you have already messed with the shaker and know exactly what to do. Im in no hurry to install considering I have not yet bought the items you told me but as soon as I do I want to install as soon as possible. You can email me back with exact items I need. I would appreciate any help you give. My email is sith_limon@yahoo.com

Thanks!
David

ok normally when someone asks for my help on something like this, they dont just ignore me afterwards and ask for help again.. I CAN INSTALL THESE RADIOS... blkstang87 can verify that i can install car stereos.. but it's all good 'cause if my help isn't wanted, it wont be offered anymore in the future

Please don't take any offense about the help thatdavidkid. JCSGT was the first person to respond when I posted for the help which was sometime last week. I havent heard from him since the post till yesterday. Then you responded couple of days ago. JCSGT already worked on the shaker 500 and knew exactly how to do it. It really doesnt matter who helps me. Im more then sure you guys know what your doing. I soon as I get what I need i will let you guys know.

If you are thinking of just taking it to an audio shop, think twice, I did it when I got mine installed and before the installation they told me it would be rough but they would get it done. On a short note I had to take mine up there 5 times to get it right, For some reason the couldnt get the door subs to operate and lied to me every time saying its good. Damn shakers!!

I have the pop too, but ima fix that stupid tech guy was like you dont need that with this harness it will work....yeah no, and only reason I didnt get it is cause there was no damn radioshack anywere near me..so ima pick that part up today if I have time, man my schedule is swamped..lol but ill post pics soon...

get rid of stock wiring, stock deck, stock amp, stock speakers.. wire new speakers and tweeters to the back to one amp and hook up another amp for you subs.. all ran to the deck.. fat ass wire and fat ass amps are the only way to go... im a stereo guy so that' s just my 2 cents
