RANT: "interchangable parts" - Lone Star Stangs

I HATE SO CALLED INTERCHANGABLE PARTS!!!!

story:
so when i first got my GT, it came with a hurst shifter. i then bought a pro5.0 power tower for it, and saved the hurst shifter for later, maybe to sell. well, brian (untouchableGT) was gonna buy it off me for a few bucks. so im thinkin, ok it should fit. pro5.0 and steeda both sell their shifters as being able to fit on the t5 and the t45, so im guessing all shifters are interchangable between the two trannies...

WROOOOOOOOOOOONGGGG!!!!!

and there goes my tuesday evening. BAH! friggin A! it would work fine in the bottom gears (2nd, 4th, Reverse) but it would have trouble in the top gears (1st, 3rd, 5th). For 1st and 3rd, it would have to click in twice to actually be in gear, a real pain in the ass. for 5th.. it wouldnt even go into gear at all. ERRRRR. so im thinking its just the shiftstops being a little too close to the shift handle right? WRONG! i adjusted the shiftstops just fine, and no luck... no fifth gear. ERRRR!!! so we ended up just taking it all off and returning back to stock. hes gonna order the steeda triax tonight. PISSED ME OFF! seriously. how you gonna make a shifter that just BARELY isnt interchangable?!?!?!? not to mention the cut i got beneath two of my finger nails that got infected because its kinda hard to clean under your finger nails. OUCH.

well i called steeda and there closed for today does anyone know what a 99-04 4.6 gt (t-6 for a 5 speed) SHIFTER thats what they call it....is that what i order or MUST it be the t-45/t-5
