rear end question

i have moser 31 splines and cobra diff and on my driver side axle in my 2000 gt and it seems to have about an eigth of an inch of play. The passenger side has none! This little bit of play is making my rotors rub on my caliper bracket. Any ideas? C clips bad? Any help is appreciated!

Could be a C clip, cross pin, axle or worn clutches.

well they are brand new axles. The diff has low miles. I think it my be a c clip cause it was recently wrecked and it bent an axle. when i pulled them out they looked ok though. the cross pin seemed fine.

Only thing I can think of is that the groove for the c clip may be mis machined meaning the groove is too large.

i already had those c clips on my car before though and never had a problem. the only thing that changed was newer axles and a wreck? im going to tear into it tomorrow and check the pin and c clips. any leads on things i should look for in specific?

just pull the axle out and put the c-clip on it outside the car to see if it's loose, should be snug but not too tight.. as in shouldn't have 1/2 inch of play or anything.. also check the cross pin for wear, if you need one, holler at me, could ups a used one to you for just shipping cost
