these are all important things to take into account when deciding how you should be claimed.

For example, when i made 6500 in college, I could claim myself and pay no taxes, or pay my tiny amount of taxes, 50 or 200 ish.

If you claim yourself, you mother would miss out on an 8k tax deduction. If she is in a 25 percent tax bracket, thats a 2k dollar tax savings that she could have gotten, just so you could get 600.

This would not be wise.

Oh and horay for goverment printing money for us to spend. It just devalues our dollar, makes gas and foreign goods more expensive. Higher fuel costs make everything cost more. milk, fruit, cheese, electricty.

maybe some people will wisely use to this to pay their mortgage payment and bank the rest

what he said - I never claimed myself in college 'cause it was worth way more to my parents to claim me.

Bush announced that the rebate checks are ahead of schedule and should begin arriving in the direct-deposit form early next week ...

Paper checks will follow afterward.

Everybody who FILED a tax form for 2007 will receive some sort of check, up to the income limits.

If you did not file; you will not recieve.

If you parents claimed you, you should not file your own taxes. If they claimed you they will be a refund of 300 for you.

even if your parents claim you, you still have to file if you made over a certain amount..... it asks you on your taxes if you are claimed on anyone else's tax return...

I don't think so. I think it had to do with filing by the April 15th deadline.

You WILL get a check if you file late. They will be running between now and the end of the year.

Seriously most of the questions you are asking are on the Internal Revenue Service website. I would think it is a legit source considering that is where the money is coming from...so maybe check it out!!

My parents claim me, and I still had to file my own taxes... since I work construction and am categorized as a "contractor" I owed the irs 4 bills, but I go to college and work on campus that helped out a bit. So now im getting 300 back so it evens out.
