Got mine yesterday. They put me on the low end and I only got $300 instead of $600. This sux.

Well I am classified as a contractor, and owed taxes, does that mean I get 600? Because I was supposed to get my check last week and didnt get SHIT. But I am classified as single also.

now i'm lost. according to the website, there are certain catagories that people fall into. i don't remember reading anything about tax liability or getting all of your return back. and how do you know if you got all of it back or not?

how did you and your husband file? jointly or separately?
this is how it reads on the IRS site for those like me, married with two children... 6) Married couple with two children, AGI is $80,000, federal income tax liability before child tax credit exceeds $1,200. Rebate is $1,200 Qualifying child credit is $600 TOTAL is $1,800 we did more than the AGI in this example, but it is less than the 150,000 which is where the "phaseout reduction" starts. here's the link: Economic Stimulus Payments Information Center go to Stimulus Payment Scenarios toward the middle of the page and it will give you some idea of how they figuring these rebates.

here is their loop hole "Eligible people will receive up to $600" that means we can get $300 well the IRS has covered their ass quite well. Hey IRS next time say things more clearly please.
