Question Remote Start or sequentials?

Hey guys, I havn't posted in a long time.

I gotta question. I have been debating wether to get sequential turn signals or remote start.

I have to buy it from Target (that's the only credit card I got)

Target's stuff

OR ebay sequentials.

If I buy the remote start, will I need the bypass module? I have stock keyless entry and no alarm system.

ANyone willing top help install either if I get them?
Thanks in advance:yapp:

James

Installation

Can anybody help me with install once I get remote start?

The one I am looking at is one with the two way pager and an alarm. I'd be happy to meet anyone anywhere! I have wiring experience, but not this much experience! Thanks!

I have just recently installed the seq turn signal and it looks awesome.. :jeff: Installation was easy as pie.

I've never thought of getting a remote start.. is there any good benefits from it? is it reliable?

I GOT IT INSTALLED!!!!!

HOLY CRAP!!! Remote start is awesome - but extremely difficult!

Took Nathan and about 2 other guys at Best Buy 9 hours but it got done (and installed for about 100 bucks)!

If you are thinking about getting a remote Start - its about 200 bucks total (i had to get 2 keys made at Varsity Ford - cost another 90!)

So for about 300 bucks you can get it done and it is a head turner!

I would reccommend remote start b/c when it is cold here - before you go inside for the night, set your defroster and high heat and what now. When you are about 10 mins from leaving in the morning, auto start your car - and as soon as you get out there - voila! No iced windshield! Vice versa in the scorching winter - set ac on max when u get out, then auto start your car as your walking in to it - when u get in, no boiling hot stang!

If u decide to get it - ask for Nathan and tell him James sent you - he can get it done faster now he "knows" what he is doing. The system remains hidded, so no ugly boxes hanging out.

I would reccommend!!! :jeff:

Next mod: sequencials!!!

I got mine installed and everything at Mothers ... I also got my 1/4th window and driver window and rear window re tinted... for that same price alarm included.

Remote start is awesome. And for 380 + the window tinting worked great...

My back window was peeling and my quarter window \ side window got smashed by some jackass with a crow bar.

But i think i got a good deal. Prices have jumped since then though.

Remote start > *

and for the rest of us with manual transmissions, remote start isn't such a good idea

nope. it over-rides the neutral safefy switch. which is what forces you to press the clutch in before starting the car (that way it's in neutral)

so over-riding this feature is pretty dangerous. you have to remember to leave the car out of gear all the time if you are planning on using the remote start.

just ask Fobrastang (brad) how he got a nasty dent on his driver's side fender. remote start + 5 speed owned him. :emb:

Manual

Yeah, remote start on a manual is possible but very dangerous - you must always remember to keep your car out of gear!

Guy at Best Buy said that he used to always leave his car in gear and never a parking brake-he installed remote start and the very same day he got it installed, remote started it and forgot that it was in gear and no parking brake! Well, he hit a car in front of him (his car accelerated until it stalled) - insurance nightmare!

"Ummm....I dont know - it just jumped! I wasn't in it officer!"

If you're looking for cool factor I think you'll get more use out of the sequential tails. I have them and love them. In my previous car I installed the remote start and at the time loved it. Then again I lived in Indianapolis and when I woke up in the morning would hit the car and by the time I got down stairs all the snow was melted off the car and I was gone. Down here I couldn't really justify the cost of remote start. But hey, that's me. It's your cash. Good luck w/ either.
Just my 2¢.

Question sequentials

Im 90% sure Im gonna buy the sequential kits off ebay for about 79, but I dont know which one! They both are the same product, but one comes with other stuff and the other is built differently one has a lifetime warranty...I DONT KNOW!

Anyways, if I was to get one, who would like to gain vast knowledge of the taillights (or somebody who wants to freshen their skills ) and help me install it? I have looked at instuctions online and it doesnt seem that hard, I would just like to have a second hand!

I'll meet anyone in the BCS area when it arrives!

Thanks in advanced if anyone is interested and has some free time!
