what did you use to restore them.. earlier today i bought the permatex? resto kit from autoblow and it didn't really work that well... I didn't see really any difference after wetsanding the lenses

my fog lights can't even cut through the fog shit inside the lens...how did you clear those?

I dont know what he used..but I have restored a couple pairs of headlights..I used a 3M compound..you can get it a O'Reilly or any place that sales 3m products...if they are really bad and pitted I wet sand them..and then hit them with the compound and then put a couple coats of wax on them..most of the time I jus hit them with the compound and wax them..here is a link to the compound that I use...

i just did this for my dad. I wet sanded with 500, 800 and so on then polished with a foam pad and some plastx type stuff ( 3m equivalent).

I used 2000 grit with some SSR2.5 & a orange pad with a backing plate & a adapter for my cordless drill. Then I followed up with some PB Polish & lastly I spayed on some Plexus. Also, you want to use water with some car washing soap not just water. When you wet sand them make sure you use side to side motion on one grit (1500 grit) & then up & down motion on the next grit (2000 grit). 600 & 800 grit are only needed if they are really bad. Always go with the 2000 grit first. Use the least abrasive and step up from there if the defect is not removed. Always use the next least abrasive for example use 1000, then 1500, then 2000.

On my friends taurus I wet-sanded them down with 1000 grit to get a nice dull finish, then I came cak with 1500 grit. Took some 3M compound with an air buffer & hit them a few times to get a good shine. Then lastly I put some wax on them for shinning purposes PLUS wax has additives that will protect it from UV rays.

Looks good but I would probably just buy new head lights and call it a day. Thats too much work.
