I am thinking about doing the PI head conversion soon and i was wondering if you have been to the track since you have done this mod. If you have i was wondering how much of a gain in your 1/4 time you got? Just trying to figure out if i should just mod my car or sell it and get a 5.0!

Actually I haven't had a chance to go and run it yet due to some transmission problems I've been having, but I was hoping to go to Midnight madness on the 15th.

I think you really should just go ahead and do it though, it's and amazing mod and gets you a shitload of power.

Look around the boards over at modulardepot.com and you can see the kind of results people have gotten.

all things being equal I would expect between a .6 - .8 second gain in the 1/4 mile.

this is if you installed stock PI heads/cams/intake onto a 96-98 stang.

Just be sure to read up on some of the results people have gotten, I can guarantee you it's an awesome mod. I'd stay with the 4.6

I was wondering what you gained b/c i could just get the PI heads or ported Pi heads or i could just do a 2v to 4v and put cobra heads on for about the same price. Although cams and everything else is about double the price for the cobra. thats why i am still deciding if i should get a 5.0 b/c the parts are cheaper and they make torque with the hp. I think i am going to save up about $2000 or until like next december and then decide want i want to do. Then i start thinking i will just save my money and do everything after college (2 years until college). I dont know i am going to get a moped. :jeff: Thanks for the input and help Rob. And also nighthawk. :mick:

Of the choices you ahve i would take them in this order:

4v P&P Heads > 2v P&P PI Heads+Intake > buy a 5.0
